There's no harm in admiring beautiful cars. I do it all the time. the only problem with my car is..... it makes me spend money when i don't want to. Or, better yet, even when I don't have any. My last motor lasted a whopping 1156 miles. :( But, heck, this thing has come a long long way in the year and 2 months i've had it. I picked it up bone stock with a set of Flowmasters welded in. :)

Thank you so much for the compliments. Did someone but the '01 cobra??? I'm not sure if I read that or not. It looks like a flat out beautiful car, but I just can't afford it:(

doesn't that make it feel like its your very "own"....... makes you feel kind of like, well, like you get this warm feeling whenever you drive it....
its the way you want it to be!!
we bought Trigger absolutely bone stock in 1999 with 13K miles on it ---
vowed not to modify it. yeah, RIGHT !!
and, yes - money? what money.....
its all invested in the house and the cars and our kids ......
hey, its worth it!!

I have a deposit down on it -
but he was suppossed to call me on Monday night and has not done so...
if he doesn't call me by tomorrow, I have other buyers waiting.....
when springtime rolls around it is going to go for more than I am asking for it... I know it, and they know it......
absolutely mint, absolutely smooth and a pleasure to drive...
I'm gonna miss it.... I was actually going to use it for my every day car eventually - since I work at home.
However - our newly married daughter moved back home from California and they will be staying with us for awhile.
We have to make the room - eventually - our son is going to buy Bully - so theres no way I'll sell that one...
01 has to go..... :(
but for my kids - its worth it!

Bonny, sell the Neon, sell the '01, put a Cobra engine in Bully.
Sounds very simple to me.

i don't what my next mod might be, thinking about a short throw or some 3.73s in the rear. even thought about a aluminum drive shaft, too many choices.

---------------
I'll tell you what ---
that aluminum drive shaft made a different of night and day in our '98 ......
well, besides the conversion to a KB suspension...
But the al. drive shaft really smoothed the transmission out. We had been thinking we needed a new clutch - everything just seemed off kilter...
Now - new clutch? Nope, we still have the original and she's smooth as can be....
great idea ... go with the alum. drive shaft before the gear change if you can.
just my .02 cents worth

I that was definately a learning expirence. It would be rather simple to do if I didn't have long tubes on there. I think i could have a bone stock cobra motor out of the car in a matter of a few hours. I'm not sure about putting it back in yet though. We'll have to cross that bridge when i come to it. Thanks for the compliments on my sexy body ;):rotf:

Once again, I was just kiddin about the sexy body thing. :) Also, I don't have girls standing in line for me believe me. Most of them are scared off by my "He loves his cars more than girls" attitude. And to top that off, just being in the marines is enough to wipe out any chances with a girl in a 50 mile radius of any military base (except air force bases  ) . I, however, found THE girl I believe. So I take care of myself, and take my vitamins for her.

She takes wonderful care of me. My cobra hasn't been good enough to pose as any competition for the young lady. :D And if my car has to see any other "High Maintance" problems.... i'll sell it for dirt cheap, and buy myself a 5.0 I'd trade for a 1991 LX 5.0 knotch back.

I promise I'll share pics with ya once I get them here, more or less. The friend that's helping me do all the work has a digital camera and has taken pictures, but I haven't had him e-mail them to me yet. There's not a whole lot to show at the moment... just a dirty car with no rear suspension to speak of ;)
The list above is what I have for the car now, but not all of it is on the car yet and might be awhile before it all gets on. We only get to work on the car on Saturdays and when you've got more mods to do to the car than you can shake a stick at it takes a good deal of time. If you and Tim get to fly down for your anniversary to Kershaw it should have most of all the mods done by then... I'm hoping all the suspension components and the stand alone from SDS. If you both make it I'll give the both of you a ride if you'd like
I hope I haven't "tainted" the thread... you're the only person to reply since early this afternoon :(

Hmm..... let's see. I put the flywheel on, clutch on, connected the trans and the engine together, bolted up the long tubes, stuffed it into the car, hooked up everything on the rear of the engine, and, got the starter back on. So, the engine is bolted to the car. There's still tons of things I need to do yet. but at least it's in there. A few days of labor, and my cobra will come to life once again.

A few days of labor, and my cobra will come to life once again.

actually - no, it isn't new -- thx for asking!
I've had my own "company" for quite awhile now .....
I am going to get a tax id # this year and make it official..
just thought about CC1 Specialties --
with my husbands company PMI -- we'll eventually combine...
We are putting our house up 4 sale this year --
and buying a place where we can have a shop in the back yard...
right now, I sell Zaino, new and used car parts,
help others "sell" their cars, find cars, buy cars and restore them, suspension mod's.,
etc. etc.
I used to detail cars as well- but I can't anymore because of my arm...
I've got to save the strength that I have left in it for shifting, and for detailing my own cars....

I'm feeling much better - thanks! Yesterday, we had to charge Trigger's battery up cuz she wouldn't start.
totally dead.
Needs a new battery - I kept putting if off, but its time.
It felt great to start it up and drive it around the block again --- there isn't any snow on the roads for now --
but anyway -- after being sick for almost a month it really felt good to drive her again!
moving next wednesday !

Sorry Bonny, I don't have any better pics of it just yet. But it is in mint shape. The thing is absolutely beautiful.
Also, this car will remain mostly stock. I've added a shifter for easier shift, and my own personal driving pleasure. The subframes were on it when I got it, so we'll just leave them there. If I do modify it, it'll be mostly cosmetic. IE '03 cobra front bumper, springs, possibly some '03 wheels or something. Possibly a styling bar. A decent cat-back would give it a nice sound, yet remain as reliable as ever.

I have names for my cars, but I really don't ever refer to them by name. I call the black 97 a "piece of $hi+" quite often, even though I love that car. And the 99, I just refer to it as "the green one". :D

Hello Bonny
Great to hear your still hanging in, I was hoping to see you both at Gingerman this year. I guess I might have to drive your way to pester you both. My son has asked about you both also and wanted to know how you are doing. He joined the military and goes to Iraq in Jan. Well I'm getting ready for the white stuff which is just around the corner.
I will talk at you later.

did you say white stuff.....
gosh, thats scary.....
Yes, we were hoping to go to Gingerman this year, but it seems like everytime it comes up, something family orientated evolves... something we cant miss...
Well, if we still have Trigger next fall, we will try again.
I have her advertised quite high, along with the trailer, so we shall see what happens. Considering the economy, I will either get very low offers or nothing at all....
I will keep you posted --
take care and enjoy the white stuff when it comes.

Hey Bonny,
I'd love to pick up Trigger. It's such a gorgeous car. I'd feel bad driving it though, it's too nice.
