I just got back from Florida. Didn't stay the whole race- left at 3 AM. Was great fun- until the Columbia explosion- kind of bittersweet. 24 Hours (http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4290732445)

Well, I wanted to look at the pictures but you have to sign on to Imagestation. :(

I really want to go to that race someday or, even better, drive in it.;)

Dean,

Spinning around the track may irrate the professional drivers!! :D ;) ;) Let's see a drivers team consisting of Kevin, you, me and Brian....Three spinners and a sunday cruiser.......The officials would probably shoot us off the track! :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

I was there filming a documentary with the racers group and they actually won the whole thing. BD, don't worry about spinning... Our number two car was taken out by a SRP 2 car that spun in front of our car after a restart.

Thomas,

was that the kid in the Porshe who smacked the SRP 2 car head on?? That was one hell of a wreck! I'm jealous that you got to go and I had to watch it on TV! :D :D ;)

Yeah, that was Andrew Davis in the car. It was one of those things were he came around a corner and the car in front of him was able to swerve and avoid the spun car and then Andrew had no were to go. I must say that Andrew handled it real well, he even let our crew interview him right after the crash. Did you see the crash that took out our other car? Jim Michaelian was tapped from behind by another car and he flipped the car after hitting the guardrail broadside at about 90 mph.

No I missed the flip!! I thought I watched the entire race that they showed on the tube??? Don't know how I could have missed it unless it happened during the night portion that wasn't televised?? Was the driver OK?? I hope so!! I'm going to have to make it down there next year! It looks like a blast!

Jim walked away and was only a little stiff. I can't believe you did not see it. His crash was one of the lead shots on speed news that night and speed were replaying it all the time. The car was a total right off and it will be re-tubed. In case you see it on TV anytime soon it was a blue and yellow car with the number 68 and after the flip it comes to rest on the passengers side of the car.
