View Full Version : Springs for a '99 Cobra Vert?
First time to visit the forum and I like what I have read so far!
My question is, who makes springs for the '99 Cobra convertible with IRS. I can't seem to find a retail distributor. I'm not looking for anything overly aggressive. I just want to take it down about 1 to 1.5 inches.
Any leads on mfg's and retail distributors would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I believe that it'd be worth your while to join the club, then swing on over to www.kennybrown.com and take advantage of the 15% discount for SCMC club members. Browse through his site. You'll see many many things for the 99 cobras. A lot of club members have his stuff, and seem to be very impressed with it.

I have the KB springs for my 99 Cobra vert, like them a lot. My only complaint is that the front is a little lower than I'd like. Front tires keep rubbing through the fender well liner. That' with my Tockiko's set at highest setting.
Anyone else have that same experience?

Dave I have the same problem but I thought it was the 275/35 18's I was running. The only time it rubs the fender lining is when I go full lock to turn at slow speeds.

Are you running stock 17in wheels? About how much did the springs drop your front?
I was on the Eibach site and they have a part number for springs for a 99 Cobra Vert but everywhere I've called says they don't have them or cant get them. Not sure what the deal is there!
I think I will join the club. I just bought my vert 2 months ago. Yet to really get a chance to drive it much since weather here has been so crappy.
Thanks for the input! I appreciate it.

I'm running 17x9 Steeda wheels with 255.40.17 tires. My fender wells take a beating on the open track when I brake hard just before a turn, then make the turn, front end really dives.
:(
Well, mine will probably never see the track...purely street. However, I was thinking of buying some '03 wheels in the future. Wonder if the extra 1.5" width will create problems with rubbing?
How is the ride quality with the KB's? Or do you not drive yours daily?
As always...Thanks!

Redsnake99:
How much did these springs lower the car - front and rear? What is the offset of your wheels? When you say "the front end really dives", what shock settings are you at? What other mods have you done to your car??
