Hell, Yeah!
I registered with Ford and with SVTOA. Looks like we'll have plenty of time to see everything we (I mean, I) want to.

I just received the packet from Ford....so far, we're leaving Tues night or Wed morning, going straight out to Gingerman to run the open track on Thursday, then over to the courtyard in Livonia....anyone else doing the open track event at Gingerman?

I've done Gingerman twice but not this year. Maybe if I had a trailer.
We've got to exchange cell phone numbers or hotel info so we can get together while we're there.

Anyone else going???

Current plan is for wife & 2 kids, including Terry whom you met on the Dragon Run last fall, to make the Dearborn trip. Can't decide if we're going in the Cobra or the Explorer. You know how the votes will go, 3 to 1 against my opinion.
Tony, I'm in your motel and will probably bring the Explorer and the Cobra as my car was accepted to be on display. I have been trying to find your itinerary you posted a while back but can't find it.

OK. I waited too long to get on the Friday Ford estate and garden tour. They are sold out for those times.
We would like to meet up with you all for the club dinners and evening fun though.

Travel caravan from NC to Dearborn on Wednesday June 11?
Tony, others from the southeast? My route takes me from Raleigh to Winston-Salem to intersection of 421 with I-77 North.
Meet at that station near the intersection? What time?

As for the tours, I assumed that the tours on the SCMC itinerary were scheduled. I didn't think I needed to sign up. I'm confused.
Speaking of tours, I don't know why I didn't think of this months ago, Does anyone know if we can get a tour of any of the plants in the area? I've been searching online and can't find anything.

Jimmy, not sure, I am kinda in the same boat as you....I had seen the signups online back a few months ago, but didnt do the advance tickets for the tours and such, because I wasnt sure what was going on each day, and didnt want to conflict with anything not yet announced.....now that stuff isnt shown online anymore....I'm hoping I didnt drop the ball on this :( I do think they will have tickets available for the tours, but you may not get your pick of time now....oh well, we'll see what happens....

You can get into Greenfield Museum and such, but anything that required advance sign up, we are too late on. :( I almost missed out on the SVT Experience part of it also because I did not relize that was a seperate ticket. SVT Experience tickets are now sold out also.

I just called SVT hotline. Kyle said we can get a tour of SVT (not sure what's included) by showing up at the bus stop and taking the bus all day on Saturday.

You have to sign up with Ford for the tours not the SCMC. I just got Steve to do an Itinerary so people would know when to sign up for what and then they could get tickets accordingly.
If you have not gotten tickets for some of the tours then you probably missed them. You will still be able to do the other events posted so it won't be a total washout. I inquired about a tour of the Dearborn assembly plant but have not gotten a response yet.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help!:(

I just thought about it today. I searched the web and couldn't find anything and Kyle said the only tour he could find out about was the MCA tour. MCA said all of their winners for the tour have already been picked. Don't we have an employee in the club that could get us "inside"?

There is also a BBQ and tour of Dearborn Assembly which they haven't given out tickets yet. They are giving out 300 on Friday and 700 on Saturday for DAP tours and BBQ. The people that were already picked were for a chance to get your picture taken as your vehicle came off the line. I believe they are going to start giving away the tickets at 1 or 2 in the afternoon on Friday but I would suggest stopping by earlier to get an exact time.
If your looking for something to do Thursday or Friday during the day you could always come out to Milan on either day and drag race from 9-3 for $40 per day or Gingerman Wednesday and Thursday on the western side of Michigan for $125 per day.
Just some thoughts.....
Thanks for the info Mark....

Thursday at Ford's 100th..............raining all day, yuck. Lots of Cobras in the area, so many around the hotel......
Tomorrow is tour day, see some of you there.
We (me, wife & 2 kids) really had a decent ride of 13 hours to get here.
More detail in the next report.

I guess I'm not the only one who brought a computer. :)
Yes, the rain sucks. Calling for sunnier skies the rest of the weekend.
I spent a while ooogling over the new Mystichrome vert in the SVT tent. I spoke with the SVT rep that was "guarding" the car. He said that it just rolled off the line three days ago. They are producing the rest of the 1000 in November of this year. He said that they shot photography of the car earlier in the week but he hasn't seen the pictures yet. He's hoping they come out well since it will be the feature of the 04 brochure due out in mid July. '04s should begin shipping "early", sometime in August.
Oh yeah, the rest of the show is cool, too. So much to see... off to get some shut eye.
Oh yeah, Tony, Dave-we're in another hotel, we'll hook up tomorrow sometime. (Since you disappeared after registration. :) ) I'll email you my cell number. Ken should I have it too.

Better day yesterday (Saturday), no rain, ground drying out. Made the "toy box" tour to the place where SVT and Roush collaborate (sharing the same building) on SVT components. Met the actual teams who work on making the mods to the stock Mustang so it can carry the SVT label. All are a bunch of young guys (20's and 30's). Saw a 300 foot burnout by a modified BOSS 429.
Saw the Mystichrome, the prototype '05 Mustang GT, the concept Lightning, the 429, some GT90's, other concepts of other Ford brands.
Stayed for the Beyonce Knowles concert, 60,000 people, stage was a long way away, so most of the concert was viewed on the big screens.
Just prior to the concert kickoff, a Ford exec had three GT90's driven on stage by Jackie Stewart, Dan Gurney and Caroll Shelby. Ford's mission is to knock Ferrari on its butt on the track with this car. In production next year, get your orders in soon.....price around $150,000.
More later. Gotto go to drive my Cobra around the proving ground track and visit the Roush complex to see more of their stuff.
A few pictures to come.....Here is a burnout video of the Boss429 at the Toy Box tour. http://cobrapages.com/videos.html

great to see everyone, however, with all of the events going on and overlapping, and all day walking and touring, it was tuff to spend much time with anyone....the 2 days on-track at gingerman followed by the svt toy box, roush tour, dearborn plant tour, and 100th celebration displays pretty much wore us out, and by the end of the day, we showered, and just went to bed, lol....the weather cooperated, and everything went well....
