Mother Nature cooperated and we didn't get a drop of rain, not one at all. It was cool overcast day with the sun coming out in the afternoon. We had a great time as usual at the drag day. I wanted to thank everyone that showed up and supported the SCMC. It's great to know we have some true blue supporters for the club.

Winners, videos, and pictures to come out soon.....

Thanks again to everyone who came out.

Yeah Tony, those that backed out becuase of the "possible" weather really missed a good time. The only thing that could have made it perfect was less humidty. I thought a few times that the clouds might gather upand rain on us but I guess the speed gods prevailed.

Kinda wish I coulda stuck around for the bracket racing...:(

Sad to say I was running consistant 13.0's@110-112, dang wheel hoppin' first gear.:o :o :o

How did Ken end up running in his 01? He had a touchy day at the November event. Hopefully this one went better for him.

We have video of Jerry Ragan and his Friend duking it out on the strip. Who won? The Bullitt or the Mach 1? You'll have to find out when we get the video and pictures up on the website. Meanwhile, take a look at these pictures...

Well, I'm pretty ticked that forecasting weather is such an inaccurate science. After the 7 hour round trip drive back in March, I just wasn't up for risking another blown Saturday given the 40% chance of rain forecast.

Ken Jett and I were up at 6am and ready to bring our old Chevy's but we just couldn't make up our minds. Ken was trying to convince me we'd get 1-2 hours of racing in before the rain started, but I wasn't so sure.

Damn weather.com. Damn them all to hell. ;)

Yep. I just wanted to say thanks, and everyone from Atlanta had a great time! Even me. Even if I couldn't run the good tires, and my danged window wouldn't go back up! ;) The guys at the dealership in Augusta got it to go back up in 3 seconds...the secret is to hold down the button while slamming the door!

Just wait till November!!!! :D ;)

By the way...if anyone has my air pressure gauge, please let me know. I ended up leaving without it. Thanks!

Yep, same here. I wasted an entire Saturday back in March driving down and back in the pouring down rain. The threat of rain and a ton of "to do" items was enough to keep me away this time. Wish I could have experienced it. Oh well, there's always November to play havoc on those pesky Cobras! hehe :D

Guys, I really hate that I didn't make it down. Got the car out of the shop at 1:30 am Friday, really didn't want to do a 1k round trip without makings sure the car is fine (which it is, thanks Delk!).

Big Big Thanks to all you guys for making my old man and his friends as welcome as you did. He called me as he left the track and talked almost as much about you guys, as he did about how much fun he had. I really appreciate that (not that I thought it'd be any different).

CONGRATS JAY on being KIng Eliminator!!

The weather was great (( despite tony's idea that he is the weatherman ;) ) Emily told us on the way home that she really wants to have a cobra and race it! ;);) but she really did enjoy it-clapping for the winners and being awed by the burnouts!:rotf: :rotf:

To Tony and all the club members,

On behalf of True Blue Performance, thanks for the invitation and letting us hang out with all of you at the drag strip. We enjoyed ourselves and appreciated the opportunity of being on the track for a few passes.

Once again guys...did any of you end up with an extra air pressure gauge? It has a blue face, reads 0 to 60, and holds the last pressure reading. I left without it, and if someone has it, I would appreciate it if you would let me know so I don't have to go buy another one.

EDIT: My air pressure gauge has been found. Thanks all of you for double checking!

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for letting this clueless girl come down and join in on your fun. I didn't do my GT justice, but it was A LOT of fun. I'll just have to practice and meet up with y'all again in the Fall! MaryAnn

Hey, just wait til the fall when we can run with REAL rubber! ;) I'm glad you enjoyed running the Slowbra (at least compared to yours and with street tires).

Somehow I managed to crack the rear differential cover this past weekend. I wouldn't know how that happened, but it is in the shop getting a new one now. ;)

I bring evil to cobras I think. Is warranty covering that???

Ken 01-Cobra
05-20-2003, 06:05 PM
I don't think you had anything to do with it Josh. I heard a rather strange noise, something like a thrown wheel weight but much softer, on the drive back to Atlanta. I actually stopped and looked at the back tires, etc. and saw nothing amiss, so it had to have happened either then, and hadn't started leaking yet, or later. So I won't let you take the rap for this one. ;) But you might ask your dad to take the curse off. :D ;) I KNOW he doesn't like his boy driving Ford's, but he needs to get over it.
:rotf:
And yes, it is covered by warranty, though any internal damage in the pumpkin may not be. Since it was still leaking today, I don't think it was run dry, so hopefully there will be no internal damage.

Sorry...I looked at all the pictures in the camera, and none of them were you and the vipers. I hope someone else can help you out.

Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed myself even though I did not stay long. I did about 6 six runs when I decided to lower my rear tire pressure, guess what- my driver's side rear tire was showing only 8 psi! I usually check air pressures before I do any event, but this time I did not. Found out that there was a nail in it; so I decided to bail and get the tire patched before all of the shops closed. I don't know their names, but a big thank-you goes out to the gentleman in the black '93 Cobra from Charleston , he let me use his air compressor, and the same goes for the man in the '96 red Cobra with the stickers on the side windows, he let me use his floor jack. There were a great group of men and women out there, everybody chipping in to help other people; etc.
