I contacted Crystal Trammell at Barber Motorsports Park today and she is emailing me pricing information today! They haven't set there calendar for next year yet but will be doing so in the next month so we are in good shape to get the dates we want. If an event was held here in September of 2004 how many folks would like to attend??

Yeouch!! That is one expensive track. I don't even think that Road America or Mid Ohio is that expensive.

I'm there as long as it doesn't cost me $400 or $500 to participate...it's a VERY NICE track...but it would need to be reasonable for me to cart my arse all the way down there. :)

Well from looking at the costs of the track we would have to charge a minimum of $350 for two days and more likely it would be $400 to make sure we didn't lose money on the event. ALSO if we want to do this anyone who wants to go would have to be prepaid well in advance NO EXCUSES. SO if you post on here that you want to do Barber and we get 50 people willing to prepay $350 (not just say it but actually send in money) we will pursue this further.

I am however looking into another track and a three day event for the third week of June EVERY YEAR. It would be a dyno night, two days of on track, a drag day and a car show all in one event! Something for everyone! :D

Just an FYI...the last two years there has been a NASA event including AI/X races the third weekend in June. That would rule out quite a few people to attend the SCMC event if they continue to book Summit for that weekend.

well well-- we needs to be sure our NASA people can be there!!  :bounce:

The reason we were thinking around the third week of June was to co-incide with the Anniversary of the SCMC. We will need to see what dates are available at the track-tracks we are looking to attend. We will also have a Vendor hosting this event so we will have to work with them on the date also. :D

There is NO WAY people are going to commit $300-$350 as early as Tony wants. We may all just pick a Porsche weeknd and go kick some German butt.

I agree John. There are always open spots at other events if you get in early. And it sounds like it might be even more than $350 if it's as small as most of the SCMC events normally are.

I'm definitely interested, but would have a hard time comitting this far in advance. It is a scheduling issue, not a money issue with me. June is a very tough month as my kids are out of school then and we usually schedule some family vacation time during that month.

Keep us posted?!!! I would however be willing to pay the extra dollars to run on this wonderful track though. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I see it as being equal to running at Leguna Seca or Watkins Glen... you have an opporunity like that and you take it!!!:bounce:

BD, See about openings on weekends this fall with other clubs. We can all meet down there like we did at Road Atlanta. Please work around the AI schedule if you can.
