Well, I entered my car in a car show today. I didn't know how well I'd do considering it was my first one and all. It was a people's choice event, and I ended up taking second in the "CARS: 1990-Present" class. I got beat by a 1990 GT. It was more of a "show" car than mine is. Mine is just a pleasure toy that I cleaned up pretty well. But anyway, I had a lot of fun, and was happy to walk away with a trophy. :)

Congratulations.....feels good doesn't it :) I've given up on car shows myself. I drive my car everyday, it sits outside 24/7 (well not any longer) and I can't sweat over the little road grime and rock ding I get here and there that the garage queen car doesn't have to deal with.

Right, Tom. The daily drivers really take a lot of work to prepare for a car show. That's why I've also signed up for the drags at the Shootout. That will give me a few passes down the strip to practice how to launch these IRS beasts.
See ya soon in Columbus.

It was fun, but I'm definately not going to enter every show I see. My car right now is daily driven until I get a clutch for my other mustang. But, after replacing that dang alternator, and paying True Blue, plus paying a ticket I acquired on the waverunner, the other mustang is on hold. I spent more time than I should have cleaning up the car, but it ended up looking really good for a daily driver.
My dad came with me and said my car looked really good. Then he had the nerve to walk around and point out every little flaw he saw when there were people around looking at the car. I was "DAD!! ENOUGH!!" Then he'd run his hands across my car so I'd have to wipe it off. And I just don't have it in me to tell him to keep his hands off the car. I was hoping he'd figure it out when I would follow him around the car with my rag so I could get his finger prints off. :)
