Mabie some of you can save some money on Cobra insurance by insurring as a collector car. I was paying 672. @ 6 months (clean driving record)

I now pay 472. per year full coverage with higher limits. If you dont drive your cobra all the time this may be good for you to check out.

I pay 345.14 for my 1999 Cobra every six months with full coverage. I have State Farm Insurance. My limits are not high but I am sure I could raise them to get to a lower premium. $690.00 a year is not too bad. ;)

I pay out the A$$ for my insurrance. I'm right @ $174 a month, full coverage. I've got 1 speeding ticket on my record (74 in a 65) and that was 2 years and 11 months ago.

Taht state farm rate sounds good. How much is insured value? Mine is insured for 25K$ with 300 k liabilty rates at 3000 miles a year. May lower vaule a lilttle next year and up the miles to 5k. The person paying 5k per year that sounds to high. I dont think the space shuttle pays that much. Shop around.

Thats probaly not bad for your age. A lot of younger people would like to have a stang but the insurrance co will stick it to them. If you dont use it for a daily driver you might get it lower under the collector car insurance programs.

yea well im 19 too... (lol weird my bday is on the 23 also.. but in april) but also im in miami so i dunno... i have state farm. ive had like 24 tickets not jsut in the cobra... but i think 4... but all of them got dismissed except 2 i think so w/e... i thought that u cant have the cobra on collector car cuz its not old enough.... does state farm do collector car? i would LOVE to do that... im really thinking about throwing my cobra in the gargage and picking up another lightning... hopefully this one will last since my 02 lightning someone decided to steal the headlights and tailights and then gas the entire thing.... i could only save the trailer hitch... amazing... about 3 hous of burning and even the rims melted...so w/e... thinking about picking up a 93 lighting for everyday....

we pay $290 for six months for our '98
and $295 on our '99....

although... the '99 is about to change....
but, thats what insurance is for.... we haven't had a claim in 12 years so thats not too bad.....

we have Allstate and they have been fantastic.

Age on vehicle has nothing to do with collector status. It could be brand new. Cobras are limited production so that puts them in collector status. Any car would probly work as long as you dont drive it to work and where ever every day.

are there mileage limits to the collector car status? i drive mine to school and work everyday, but my school is 1 mile away, and work is like 4 miles. i think i post about 3-4k a year.

Yes you can insure it for different limits. You could go with the 5,000 mile limit. Call Larry insurance agent that i mentioned in 1 st post. He can answer questions. He a hot roder from way back too.:)
