I was told at the FFW in Bristol Sunday, that if you enter your car in a car show at the 40th anniversary that you cannot move your car at all during the days of the event?!

Anyone clarify this? I can understand not moving it for the day of the judging, but Im not taking two cars just so I can get back to the room and the restaurants.

Dennis,
At all MCA shows that I have been to they must stay all day but you take them out at around 5PM each day and then have them back in the next morning by 9 ish.

Dennis thats what I was talking to you about getting a trailer to pull the car or renting a rollback. Because we have been taking 2 cars to these shows ,but Nashville is to far for us to take 2.

If you are going we could maybe car pool the women an we follow in our stangs. Robert said he was thinking about going also.
We will talk some more at the show Friday if the rain will hold off. Its a big show for the Enka High school Wrestling Team.

Okay, with that said, that will be fine.

Now, the next issue is a room. I also heard that the closest hotel is 45 miles away now.

I think I have a option staying with the Mach 1 & Bullitt guys at a hotel, but at this moment I cant remember the name of it. Ill have to go to mach1registry.com to find out.

Right, the next issue is a room, the SCMC was looking at getting a group of rooms but I have not heard any thing back yet.

But if what you say is right, we might want to get on the ball about some rooms. I hope you are wrong about the closest rooms being 45mi. away:eek:

Dennis,
I think you would be able to leave your car at the speedway overnite as I think they would have security, if you did not want to drive 45 or more miles each way each day.
I have left mine like this at MCA shows and have had no problems.

Don't know why I haven't heard anything back, Tony, but I offered to check on a couple of hotels, roughly 20 minutes driving time from the track. I'd be more than happy to go check it out for you, all you have to do is say so. It's not like I'm only 20 minutes from there, and Delk Performance is right behind NSS or I go there almost all the time.

Unless simple forgetting about my membership renewal not constitute a reply on emails, or my being able to help a group a friends?

Sorry Steve..... I have been tied up a lot lately with all of the events coming up. I am way behind on e-mails too.....

If you knew the list of things I had to do then you would understand???? Besides working 15 hour days, I am beat! Yesterday I got home 17 hours after I left to go to work and the time constraints have been tough on me lately.

Jacque did check on a hotel, the Courtyard in Nashville. The rates are $89.00 a night (AAA rate) and they do have some availability. The weekend rate is $95.00 a night if you do not have AAA. I have to call and block some rooms but she said it was 37 miles from the track but 2 miles from all the other action. What would everyone else like to do? Be close to the Grand Ole Opry or get closer to the track? Please give me your input!

Thanks for your input!

Stangbum,

They have set up another river boat cruise/dinner deal for Saturday night. There are only 150 spots available so if we are going to do this we need to register NOW! :D

Tony,

I think that it depends on how many people are planning on doing the track event and how many are planning on doing the show...display stuff. Everyone who is planning on attending needs to post here with what events they are planning on doing.

I'll start... I plan on doing the track event on Friday and Saturday and the show stuff on Sunday.

Greg,
I believe you would have to do the car show thing on Sat. because that is when they will do the judging, or a least thats the way MCA has done it in the past. But you could just show your car on Sunday.:D

The way I read it over on IMBOC is you need to register over on MCA real soon, as their is a limited number entered.

I guess I would enter the Judges Choice Awards

I just did a search for rooms and found some at the Sleep Inn in Murfreesboro for $62.10 w/AAA membership.

If Im gonna do this, and I can discuss it with the wife tonight, Im gonna get a room like real soon.

Dennis

Oh Rick, The Mach 1 is sold as soon as they got it in.:(

Now, let's pick one and go with it. I need to know where the majority of the people want to stay. Personally, I would select the SpringHill suites. Yes I know it is further but.... there's nothing like cruising down the Interstate with a bunch of Cobras at speed. If you don't believe then you need to come to one of our Autofairs. I also thought we could "cruise" Saturday night around Nashville if we have a guide?

Steve Ragan, are you volunteering to guide us? I said guide us, not cook for us.... :rotf:

Here's what we have..... Those of you that want to stay close to the speedway can stay at the Sleep Inn for $58.50 a night. This is 11 miles from the speedway and you all can be together.

Those of us that are going to shows in Nashville can stay at the Courtyard near Opryland where the host hotel is. The cost is $89.00 a night.

Either place is fine and we can just go out to eat together on Saturday night. It will be too difficult to get everyone to agree on one thing or another.

I'll be at the Courtyard with several other members that will be staying there. We'll just meet up at the car show and can plan a cruise or something for Saturday night after dinner...

Let's go have some fun!:bounce:

If I fill out MCA's registration form as Judges Choice its $20 includes a two day pass.
That means I have to get additional weekend passes for the wife also?
So for her to get in its another $30?

With this being a special show for MCA I think the judging rules will be altered a little. The last show like this everyone in judges class recieved an award. (Concoures had their own little deal) You just walked up and showed proof that you were in the show on Sunday and you got an award. But I am not sure on this one:confused:
I guess it will all depend on how many enter in the Judges Class.

Although they did send the Judges around and they went through their deal with each car:doubt: But I don't know if they were actually judging them for mods and things like that.
They spent about 20 to 30 min on each car.
But I did not get a judging sheet for that show soooo. I just not sure. Maybe we can email them to find out.

Dennis,
On a more serious note, The had to put Robert (redfiregt) in the Hospital Thursday. The Doctors said it was either ROCKY MOUNTAIN SPOTTED FEVER, WEST NILE VIRUS OR MENENGITUS , note sure of the spelling.
The did a spinal tap yesterday evening and the doctors said they were leaning towards the menengitus. But it was rough for him on Thursday. Sherry said he could possibly come home Sunday if all goes well.
He is in Mission, room 514
TEL. # 2136514
Sherry said he was feeling better this morning and he could possibly take phone calls this afternoon.
