Will a T-56 TRANS FIT A 99 COBRA WITHOUT CHANGING ANYTHING. MY TRANSMISSION WAS GETTING STUCK IN REVERSE AND NOT COMING OUT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT MIGHT NEED A NEW TRANS. I WAS THINKING ABOUT UPGRADING TO A T-56 AND PAYING THE DIFFERENCE, BUT I NEED TO KNOW IF IT WILL BE A PERFECT FIT. I CALLED SVT AND THEY SAID IT WOULDN'T WORK, BUT THEY HAVE BEEN WRONG BEFORE. ALSO, HAS ANYONE HAD PROBLEMS WITH DRIVELINE VIBRATION. THE DEALER SAID THEY HAVE TO PUT A DAMPER ON FIRST. THE DAMPER GOES ON THE DIFF AND SOMEHHOW DAMPENS THE VIBRATION PRODUCED FROM THE EXHAUST. IF THAT DOESN'T WORK THEY RE-BALANCE THE DRIVESHAFT,IF THAT DOESN'T WORK THEY CHANGE THE DRIVESHAFT, IF THAT DOESN'T WORK THEY CHANGE THE DIFF. THE PROBLEM IS I HAVE AN AFTERMARKET EXHAUST AND THE DEALER SAYS THE DAMPER MAY NOT FIT, WHICH MEANS THEY WON'T FIX THE DRIVELINE VIBRATION. THE DEALER SAID FORD TRYS THE DAMPER,THEN THE RE-BALANCE DRIVESHAFT,THEN REPLACE DRIVESHAFT,THEN REPLACE DIFF. THE SERVICE TECH SAID FORD MAKES THEM GO IN THAT ORDER OR THEY WON'T COVER IT. ALSO HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK. THEY ARE ALSO GOING TO FIX THIS. IT'S ALL COVERED UNDER WARRANTY,AND HOPEFULLY THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF THE VIBRATION WITHOUT GIVING ME A BUNCH OF CRAP WITH THE EXHAUST THING. IN MY OPINION, AND ACCORDING TO SVT, THE DRIVESHAFT IS THE CULPRIT WITH IT OCCASIONALLY BEING THE DIFF. GIVE ME SOME FEEDBACK PLEASE. THE CAR IS AT THE DEALER NOW AND IT'S NOT LEAVING TILL IT'S FIXED RIGHT. OTHER THAN THAT, THE CAR IS A BLAST, ALTHOUGH 300RWHP ISN'T ENOUGH AND I NEED MORE. I'D BE HAPPY WITH 400RWHP. THE PERFORMANCE GUY I TAKE IT TO HAS A NATURALLY ASPIRATED 400RWHP PACKAGE IN THE WORKS AND THAT'S WHY I WOULD PREFER A T-56. WITH 4:10'S AND 400RWHP I SHOULD BE IN THE HIGH 11'S. THANX SWB:D

Have you ever taken your driveshaft off?? Personally, I would unbolt it and rotate it one hole and bolt it back up. Take it for a quick spin, if the problem is still there, rotate it again. Do this til the vibration goes away, or until you get back to the original spot. If that didn't do it, then I'd take it to the dealer. Hopefully they've tried this.

Call True Blue Performance. They just put a T56 in my 99 Cobra. They can tell you all the stuff they did to mine to get it to work. It's a great tranny, have had it on the strip and on the track and on some long trips.

1st Piece of feedback: Please TURN THE CAPS LOCK OFF!!!!! It is very difficult to read your posts in all caps, plus all caps usually denotes yelling (in moderation).

Per D&D Performance (http://www.ddperformance.com/) you will need "Ford Electric T56 transmission, D&D crossmember spacer and shorter driveshaft. Kit price is $2715". They don't list what you need to get the Viper spec T-56 in.
