Also, it was about 94 degrees that day with alot of rubber on the track. I am sure this makes a difference, but how much of difference?

The heat is bad but the rubber is good for running on the track. The rubber helps make your tires grab better. Get your IMRCs fixed/replaced before you worry about why your car didn't run what you think is should.

thanks tcrews. I did have them fixed. the small computerized motor that causes the cables to turn them open was not working at all. but I couldn't understand how much HP I was losing. I wish I knew how much in #'s. It cost about 650$ at the local ford dealer to fix them. Kind of expensive. But, I am glad it was that other than something major bad. Again thanks for the info.
