To summarize: great friendship; perfect weather and an absolute blast on the track. Thanks to Tony for keeping this event on the SCMC schedule. Thanks to Dean and Tom for their efforts in running the event. Thanks to SVT for bringing the Mystichrome Cobra Coupe for all of us to drool over (and distributing the first '04 Cobra brochures).

We had a great time.

It was awesome seeing everyone again! Plus -- the weather was perfect!

Tim and I were trying to figure out who drove the farthest ..... ??
Matt and his gang are on their way home to New Hampshire today.. Drive safely -- !! :) It was awesome to finally meet you in person!!

Matt received some damage to his car from the storm -- very disappointing, and he was also given some poor directions from the web -- but made it safely and.
I was very happy to see him!! :bounce:
He, as well as others -- had some difficulties and wasn't able to drive on the track as much as we all hoped. But we were happy to see him and his "family" and we will be looking forward to meeting up again! Thanks for coming all that way Matt, Jason and Kassy !! Come again! ;-)

We had drivers from different providences in Canada,
from the States, we had New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, -- and ?? Thanks for coming!

I have to say that this event was the best group that I have ever driven with -- :bounce:

everyone helped each other, commoradarie -- manners, etc. etc.
Even though we had several mishaps and many cars up on jackstands -- it basically went smoothly and we were all able to laugh off our difficulties -- I think all of us experienced something ... and all of us "shared" something ...

our son Tom had to be towed in at the very end we were proud that he knew to coast off the track and wait it out ... :flash:
he learned allot this weekend. I asked him how he liked the 95 GT and he said ... it handles nice but "not enough power".....
He took it to school this morning -- filthy dirty and an orange #10 on the side....
and Tim says "not enough torque"...
hmmmm...... maybe that will make a good track car for me...

Anyway - we were told by our son Tom's instructor that Tom has "the gift"...
oh oh, were in trouble!!...
at one point our whole family was out on that track in our two cars and riding with others. Our nephew John and our son-in-law Nathan had a grin from ear to ear and even my daughter was starting to get into it! They wanted us to say thank you --
:bounce: :bounce: :thumbsup:a great big thank you for letting them take a ride with many of you on the track. Getting the whole family involved makes it allot easier to do this more often.
Next year the boys can camp in the trailer.

Thanks also for letting me bring my TT ALMS coupe --- I had allot of fun with it although I was pretty nervous the first day. By the second day I was starting to get it "back" and I'm really enjoying my all wheel drive "jelly bean" (thats what my daughter calls it).... its an awesome little car!....
but trust me --- I'd much rather be driving the Cobra !
Miss T is still new so I did not push it -- I think just about everyone passed me and thats fine with me.
I had fun and it was fun to see you guys run! Although letting everyone pass gives you a good whiff of the brake, clutch & fuel smells, black smoke, etc. etc. ....
sheesh ... :jawdrop:

Now -- to get Tim's Cobra back and get the two of them back out on the track again.

Hope everyone arrives home safely, and thank you everyone for a great weekend!

Bonny

but we were glad you guys and Kassy made it !!

No one could have ordered up better weather than what we had this last weekend. It was just unbelieveable!

I want to thank everyone that helped out. I had so many volunteers that sometimes I didn't know what to do with them all which is a great problems to have. I would love to thank everyone by name but then I am sure that I would miss someone. This is a great club to be apart of.

I can't tell you how many times one of the instructors came up to me and said what a great group we had there. They couldn't get over how everyone had such a great attitude and how friendly they were. They really want to come back next year.

I wish I could have spent more time with everyone especially on Saturday but there was so many things to do with the large count that we had. Sunday was much better but all I wanted to do was finally get some track time.

Thanks again everyone!!

Well our weekend was cut short by our diff braking but all in all it was a great weekend. I was able to give a couple of people rides and the car was handling OK. Getting to run on Friday night was great. I was able to get the lap time I was after and the Griggs world challenge rear setup is about to go into the car. Dean, can't wait to see you in AI next year.

No, I was a couple of seconds off that time but the lap I did should put me near the fornt of the AI field. It also proved to me that Ron Fellows is one of the best drivers in the world (not that I didn't know that)

OK, I'll post here too ;)

It was really great to see everyone again, and meet a few more of the SCMC family....what a great time!

I dont think there was anything to complain about the entire weekend, except about our boiled brakes and spent tires, LOL....It was so much fun to run and play tag with Peter and Lew, take out passengers, and even to kick some viper butt! (OK, some, LOL) and I guess we all shaved a few seconds off of our best times as we gained track experience....

I put just shy of 300 track miles on over the course of the weekend! :what: :surprise:

Thanks again to all who made it possible: Tony, Dean, Tom, Dave, and everyone else who helped.....Thanks also to Rob (who really enjoyed the ride with Dean) the track management and employees, we couldnt improve a thing.... :D

ok, my turn. as for distance.... it was 958 miles home with good directions (thanks Tim!) unfortunately there was a fatal accident in Ontario on my way home and I sat in 3 1/2 hours of stop and go traffic on the 403. Mostly stop. I would have made it home in 15 hours if it wasn't for that and the rest of Isabel dumping tropical downpours on us till we were in mid NY state.

what a good time! awesome track, great weather, and the BEST group of people!!!!!! Every time I go to an event like this I am reminded of what a tight family this club truely is.

I can also tell everyone this, gingerman is just a little hard on the brakes =o) thank god for auto zone being just down the road, and friends in the club with "extra"!!
I think it's time for some track pads and rotors, as well as cooling ducts and maybe a set of track wheels and tires.

A HUGE thank you to Ken, Tim, Lary and Dean for the use of tools, suplies, and knowledge!!! You guys ROCK! and I owe you all next time!

Dean and Tom, a special thanks for all the work you guys did to put this event together, and run it!!! Great job.... take the rest of the week off with pay!

Thomas, sorry to hear about your car, I was looking forward to seeing you again. Well I did see you pull into and then out of the hotel lot, and then hit the highway. Hope you get it all set quickly, and congrats on making your time! I'm sure it was a fast one!!! I was pretty pleased with my 1:42.3 on street tires, and being the first time I was on that track. After riding with Ken in the R I can definately see where I could improve on it next time.

Also, thank you for making my daughter feel right at home there!! she had such a good time getting rides from everyone, and just hanging out with you! She asked me on the way home "how long till we go back there?"

Hey Thomas --

did you and Mike end up driving thru some of hurricane Isabel on the way home? hope you made it home safely.

we all felt bad that things went wrong for you and that you had to leave --
wish you could've stuck around longer!!

thanks for the "tips" .....

they worked !!

I'm not looking for high speeds and "timing" I just want to run smoothly and your suggestions helped allot.

I wish I could've driven the GT -- Driving the Audi was/is awesome -- but I don't think I'll take it on the track too often. A dinged up car with Kenny Brown suspension will do the job for me!

see you again next year? :bounce:

You should have been there Jimmy. The Mystic reunion count was down some this year; three plus Mystichrome.

Janice and I were both fortunate enough to get rides in the Electric Green rocket. That car rocks (and the driver's not half-bad either :D )

It was a great weekend, and many thanks to Dean and the others that arranged this. This was my first time at Gingerman, and I am now infamous at the local delearship as the "person that went through 20,000 miles of brake pads in one weekend". I have to get some racing pads and learn how to fit them at the track in the future :D

Any suggestions other than the parts in the owners manual for 2003 Cobras?

Oh, and next year, I'll be back;)

I hope, eventually, that the driver (me) is as capable as the car:(

A little late, but I would like to weigh in on Gingerman too. It is hard to add to what has been said, but Lew and I had a terrific time. What a great group of people and so many fun rides. Lew treated me to my first spin on a track, and it was fun!! We were chasing Peter with Ken right behind in turn 2 and found that there wasn't room for Peter and us there too. Thank you too from us to Dean and Tom for all of the hard work and the fun weekend. We are waiting to register for next year!! I have a picture to post.
