I won't be able to make this one. It's the Marine ball on that day, so i've got to be here for it. :(

Damn Josh, that sucks! I know that the Marine Corp Ball is a biggie though, so maybe you can make the spring one if you get your car fixed and are still here in the states! I was looking forward to seeing what 100 lbs. out of the car would result in! ;)

Yeah, I just can't make it. Personally, I wouldn't mind missing the ball for the drag day, but Tarah like's to get all dressed up and stuff, so if it makes her happy, then I've gotta go with that. Plus, I just bought a transmission, clutch fork, clutch disk, throw out bearing, crossmember, Tarah's plane ticket, and 2 ball tickets. Plus, still don't have a cage, and I wouldn't be able to run anyway unless I snuck a run or two in. I'll have the cage, a built trans, built rear, and some skinnys on the cobra before the next drag day though. :)

Hey, if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy! ;)
At least it will give you a chance to fix everything and take a breather before you break something again! :D

Hey there. Things have been going pretty good. Lost a transmission somehow....... I have no idea how that happened:D. So i'm going back to a T-45 until my re-enlistment bonus hits. After that, it's on. The car is going to get a serious driveline makeover. :) Suspension will too. :) I hope the traffic picks back up here. I love this board, but lately there isn't anyone posting. There've been times when I haven't checked the board for a week and there's only like : 49 posts in 16 threads.

Ain't that the truth. Hopefully, the rear end I'm planning will hold up. I know this transmission will. http://www.x2cmotorsports.com/cart/shopper.cgi?preadd=true&key=130
Pricey, but just barely a bite into Viper 6-speed territory.

That looks like a nice tranny! I think I would take a serious look at the one that was in MM&FF last month though. It sounded stout!

Which one was that? I know I have the magazine, but I can't find it. I saw one a few months back about the G-force transmissions, they looked really good too. But, X2c will use the case from my TKO and modify it, swap whatever internals need swapping to complete the trans to V 1.0 spec. But that's still in the $1300 range.

The G-Force was it I think. It had really stout gears and extra strength shafts, etc. Looked bullet-proof.

I'll look into them too. try to get some kind of price comparison and see what I'm looking at.
I got my transmission today. I quit working on it after about an hour and a half. i just got bored working on it. So i'll pick it back up tomarrow and hopefully get her running. It's a 99+ one though, so the speedo won't work. I'll figure something out I'm sure.

That's cool that you got a tranny. I thought yours was mechanical and the 99+ ones were electronic. Without the circuits to read the signal, how are you going to make it work? Sounds like a tech writeup to me. ;)

Easy....... With 3.27 gears, the speedo follows the rpms almost exactly in 4th gear. ha ha ha. 2000 rpms with my tires in 5th gear is 66mph.
I will figure this out though, and I will make it work. And, I will write a tech article with pictures when I get it figured out.

Well, it is my understanding that before speedometers there were tachometers! :D You can always just drive with the tach I guess.

I'll get it figured out. The car is just gonna see a ton of track duty as my gift for it. I'm going to put the thrashing on it that it deserves. BTW, did more work on it today. Having some serious header problems again. I've got them up in there, but I can't seem to get any of the bolts started. Nothings stripped out, it's just I'm on my back, trying to hold the gasket to the header, and the header to the head, and also, hold the header steady while trying to get a bolt started............and.............. it was raining all over me. :D Awesome day if I may say. Trans is in though, so that's good. Just need to bolt the header up, H-pipe, aftercooler, side exhaust, driveshaft, change oil, add trans fluid (junky stuff), put shifter on and hook up the battery, oh and put the starter back on. Also the strut tower brace. Then it's done. :doubt: I'll run it for a few minutes and then put the MERCON 5 trans fluid in it. I just want to use some cheap stuff to flush out any moisture or anything that probably made it's way in there.

I guess it is a good thing you DON'T have Tarah there...you wouldn't get all day Saturday to work on your car! ;)
Sounds like progress is being made! But what is the deal with the headers all of a sudden? You been eating better and putting on weight? ;)

No, lately I've been going back to the Ramen trying to save up some money. Usually it's a big PITA to get the header in there. It's just a game of twisting. I put it in backwards kind of, then, after the second primary clears the block, I turn it 45 degrees and then push it past the third primary, then, rotate it into it's final resting place. If i can't get it to twist, I jack the engine up higher. Well, I got it in there first shot (20 seconds or so, i'm the man), but I couldn't hold it in place and start a bolt. It was a shatty day, so it was kind of hard to see. Raining, kinda dark all day, but still, I should be driving it right now. :(
