I have a '99 Cobra with 12K on it. The only mod I know of is a drop-in K&N. I hear a hissing/vaccuum noise when just off idle and sometimes at low RPM's. Is this due to the K&N, something else, or is this normal? Thanks for any help or ideas.

Um.... I can't remember but pick up the hood and check by the firewall. I think the problem lies there but I don't remember what was causing it. Maybe Tom can jump in here and remember. The K&N will not cause the noise you are describing.;)

I don't know if it is related or not, but there also seems to be a "dead" spot just after shifting too. It's not real bad, but still noticable at times.

Sounds like your traction control is engaging. Do you turn it off when you get in the car?
:doubt:

The dead spot was corrected by changing the fuel filter - FYI...
