Here is the link for the Lightbar --

It is made by Classic Design Concepts and the quality is awesome and the company itself is highly recommended...

Thanks...it really looks good and I can't help but to think it'll provide some safety in the event of a roll over.

well, I don't believe that it will ... if you want safety you'll need the roll bar.

We bought it for looks -- we don't race this car - we mainly show it.

My husbands '99 Cobra is a coupe and it has a street cage in it --

I do know a guy from our local club who rolled his '98 Cobra vert and they basically walked away from the accident because the driver screamed duck and they all put their heads down, even the guy in the back seat was fine. I would imagine it all depends.....

anyway -
the Lightbar looks awesome --

I don't think they'd want to put lights into a roll bar or cage --- that would probably be another "risk" if you were in an accident....

Thanks for your reply...I believe you're correct. The light bar is more esthetics than safety (other than the Dole light). My first choice is "both," the Dole light with roll over protection. 'Don't plan on going inverted anytime soon but I drive my Cobra hard and, ya' never know.

By the way, I lived in Chicago MANY years ago. 'Went to Taft HS. It was so long ago we wrote on rocks.

Thanks again for your reply,

Hope I'm not intruding... I followed your link regarding the light bar.

I graduated from Maine West High School- small world. I'm in Des Plaines 'enjoying' the snow since our flight back to NC was cancelled. And I thought I would miss having a white Christmas.

OK, here's my "war story," 'Can't remember the name of the FORD dealer in Des Plaines, but he was big and I bet they're still there. In 1969 my dad bought a leftover (demo) '68 GT 500 (Shelby). Performance red...'came stock with a full roll cage/shoulder harnesses. I was 17 and the way I drove it these safety items were necessary. It was the most beautiful (and fastest) car we ever owned and it was stolen a year after we bought it. 'Probably the motivation for purchasing the COBRA I have now (yes, performance red). Some sort of Freudian wish fulfillment or whatever.

Hey, wasn't that Gasey guy from Des Plaines?

Happy motoring,

Tamose

Oops, looks like I missed a question...Taft was "right off" the Kennedy Expressway. I can't remember the cross street it was on but the covered wagons used to park in front of it (ha-ha).

We lived by Cumberland and the Kennedy Expressway.
