Did Russ Ethridge get his registration in?
What about Jeremy McKinney?
Russ and Jeremy would be some F-body folks.

Tom,
I have been lagging on the OLP because of not knowing how to get it set up. I do not want to do PayPal but rather use a major bank that accepts credit cards, Wachovia, to get everything set up. If you know how to do this and want to help me, then I would appreciate it alot!
Thanks!

What time will you guys be passing through Columbia? I'll be pulling the Focus behind "The Big Ugly", so I have no idea what kind of speeds I can keep.
I figure I'll leave about 30 minutes before y'all are due in Columbia, and that should get us in Aiken at the same time. :D

In the past gates opened at 10 and racing was starting around 11, has anything changed?

Shon,
The gates will open when we get there, around 9:45 am. I will be asking Jeff to not allow anyone in till Lisa, John, and I get there simply because it becomes confusing when you have to hunt down people to come back and pay. Getting there early will not do anyone good. I don't think we had this problem at all with the GA F-body club at all. Preregistering is the key to a quick processing so you can get to the track. The track will be ready around 10:30 or whenever they get through prepping it.
It looks like great weather for drag racing this weekend. I hope the predictions stay the same. :)

WELL THE WEATHER HAS DONE ME IN FOR THIS DRAG DAY! I won't be coming down to drag day due to the damn weather. 1st I won't be able to get to Charlotte tomorrow to get the rear control arms fixed and the wheels aligned. Also the diff is leaking from the front pinion seal AGAIN and was to be fixed tomorrow. 2nd I don't have the Snake with me and I won't be able to get to my house to get it before Saturday. 3rd EVEN IF I was able to get to my house I doubt that by Saturday morning I would be able to get the car down my drive! SO I guess I'll see everyone at CMP! :( :( :(

Whistler and I had a talk after I had a look at our 8" snow cover. Freezing rain and sleet is now coming down on top of it all. We decided there is no way to get this car out to any street that has been plowed already. So I'm going to have to cancel my plans for Drag Day.
Hopefully we can get another such event planned for this spring.

I would say that I77 will be icy due to the low temperatures tonight. They will have Cherry road cleared out so we can still meet there for breakfast. The interstate should be cleared out and once we hit below Richburg, I believe we will have clear sailing the rest of the way. ;)

Had a great time at drag day. It was good to see jeff Schmell burning up the track and we got 5 new members. Three with 03 Cobras and two with 93 Cobras. Awesome day!:bounce:
BTW, I thought Pokey was pokey but it turns out my little stock 94 Cobra ran a 14.37@92 mph in the quarter. Nothing to brag about but that's pretty good for a stocker. Considering a stock 94 is said to be tested from the factory to run a 14.5 @ 97 mph, I thought the 14.37 was pretty good. This was with a 2.033 60 ft time. :)
I'm thinking if I get rid of the shift retard, put in an OR pipe and go with 373:1 gears, I could be in the 13's. :doubt:

Thanks Tony for a fun event. Janis and I enjoyed it!
I think, except for the old Ford pickup, that I had the slowest car at the event. I'm pretty happy with the 15.6 I got with the Focus. I had a best top speed of 89.5 which I was also happy with. But the best part of the day was seeing Janis take it down the track a few times.

John,
I'm not going to defend a stock 94 Cobra against a modified Neon with spray. Stock 94's are supposed to run 14.5 @ 97 mph. I ran a 14.3 so for a 85,000 mile car, it did pretty good. Like I said , if I had an OR pipe, 373 gears, and a better computer to remove the shift retard, I'd easily be in the 13's. Although I do respect Trent's car!

Thanks for a great event!!! I have Nov 6th on the calender!!
I ran all new best today and drove it home!!!!
I really appreciate all my friends that were there swapping all my tires several times and SVT for inviting us for some fun. And Carolina for having a great launching pad!! No wheels came off the ground b/c I was wasting no time, the car was moving.
Off the street, swapped tires, ran a 12.0@110, then went to the right lane and did a 11.96@111!!!! All are new best. Then decided to start spraying a 100 shot. Finally went 11.17@119.5!!
I got talked into a 150 shot but the car did not respond to it, not sure if the bottle was running low or what but it only went 119.55 on the 150 shot so we know that the car can go 10s on a tad bit bigger shot and pump gas. I say a 125shot will get the car there!
And those that were there I am sure enjoyed watched the PPM 'crew' change tires...5 times I think....my 'pit' looked like a used tire lot and add all the tools and crap that I bring with me.
See ya next time!!

I would like to say thanks to everyone that put the event on. I had a great time meeting everyone and racing for the first time. Yea that's right this was the first time I have ever raced. My Cobra is bone stock down to the F1's. I do have the silencer removed but that’s it.
Here are a few times:
1st pass;
+ .158
2.229 60ft
5.708 330ft
8.585 1/8 ET
13.366 ¼ ET
98.67 mph
That was my worst pass wheel hopping & shifted from 2 to 5th . So I had to go right back at it. I never missed a shift after that.
2nd pass;
+.443
2.083 60ft
5.552 330ft
8.395 1/8 ET
12.814 ¼ ET
107.62 mph
Best pass;
+.294
1.968 60ft
5.473 330ft
8.322 1/8 ET
12.796 ¼ ET
105.76 mph
The money is going back in the car. It will help pay for the Bassani O/R x-pipe.
Thanks again to everyone

I brought the guy with the Blue Camaro. He's from Lexington. We stayed untill the track closed. The only race he could get was against a chevy S-10 shooting NOS.He gave the guy a head start and it still was no contest.Had a great time and I hope to see everyone in Pigeon Forge.
Yeah, he wanted to run me for some money but I was not interested, that takes the fun out of it.
"There is always someone faster" rings thru my head!!

That was the guy that was with him wanting to run for money.I think he ran the S-10 for fun.During the day he was only running the NOS half of the track. On his last pass at night he used NOS the entire track. He didn`t post times so I don`t know his numbers.I saw your car run and It would have been close.

If he was running a shot half track and running 11.2s...what did it do on a full track shot?!!? We will not know, dang....I knew there was more to that than presented...stock bottom end car...anyway, I am $100 richer by not running the guy!!
