Break in oil change

Hey all:
I'd like your opinion. On engine rebuilds I have always changed the oil after 500 miles. The Cobra manual says to change at 1,500 miles. I'm leaning toward a 500 mile change (car has 450 miles on it so far).

What's your thoughts, am I being paranoid or is this just good insurance.

(PS just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.)

On engine rebuilds....500 miles. Stick with dino oil until 1,500 or more.

True Blue Performance:

After the 45 minute initial start
At the 100 mile mark (just to check for metal shavings)
500 mile mark
1000 mile mark (again, use a magnet to check for metal shavings)
After that..... every 3000 miles.

I was told to wait til about 1500 miles or so if I wanted to switch to synthetic...... I still haven't, still with the good old Valvoline 5W-30.
