Hi

My's name Jason, from north Alabama. Just bought a, pactically new 97 triple black Cobra convertible. You will probably see me on here asking questions from time to time.

welcome to the board. You should consider joining the club. There are some really nice people here. It will be quiet here for a few days, as a lot of the gang is at the Carolina Motorsports Park, doing a driving weekend. Post a picture, so we can see your new ride. I own a 97 Pacific Green vert.

Hello Jason,
Glad you found this spot. Great group of people here. I'm sure that they can answer almost any Cobra related question that you have.
Congratulations on your new car.

Thanks for the welcome. Something I forgot to add, I've been talking about wanting a Cobra since 1996 or 1997. And this deal just rolled right under me. I believe I'm the 3rd or 4th owner. The 1st owner blew the engine at around 50K miles  Then the local Ford dealership put a new engine in (Feb 02) and I have the receipts, also complete new stainless exhaust!!! Then, the fellow I bought it from, had the tranny rebuilt (Sept 03), has 2002 Cobra rotors, new brakes all around, new 2 month old tires, and the gears (3:73) are almost new as well. The car only has 82,000 miles on the clock and is, in my opinion a new car? It's the triple black option and so awesome!!! I plan on attending the Dragon run in the fall, this is something else I always wanted to do and haven't yet, but that would be an awesome weekend ride, just gotta have the cash for the gas it loves to drink, but who cares, it's not built for mileage, it's built for style and power :D I will also be joining the club soon.

why wait until the fall to run the dragon? The club's having a anniversary in June. I am planning on attending that. That will be my first dragon run.

I was unaware of one in june, (shows my stupidity) I work 6 days a week and it's actually very hard to get off work, but I may try to get off in June. Anyone have the info on the June run, btw? I actually thought it would be nicer to cruise in the fall, not as hot at least. I dunno about TN/NC, but in Bama, June-August is hot as hell!!! Let me know? Thanks

Jason

if you click on the SCMC logo at the top left of the page, that will take you to the home page for the club. There is information on there about events, photos of members cars, etc. The TN/NC mountains can get warm in the summer, but they are absolutely beautiful year round.

I found it last night, after you said something about it. It was right there in front of my face, duh. I would love to go to both, but damn, this monster love the gas... I guess interstate speed is better than around town? I try not to get on it too hard in town, but it's very tempting, hehe. I'll save most of it for the Dragon. Later, Jason

You guys are gonna absolutely LOVE the dragon! We were finally able to do it this past October. It was truely awesome in the fall, but I'm looking forward to doing it in June, even thought it will be a bit on the hot side. As always with this club, the best part is the people! :D Even while stuck in a traffic jam for a couple of hours!

Here's what we do while we are waiting in traffic besides laughing on the two way radios.

Jason, you have a convertible, you'll fit right in with the rest of us loonies. :rotf:
