I have heard and read on mutliple sites that the 99-2003 Cobra front A-arms can be utilized on the pre-99 Cobras, such as my 1994 Cobra.

The problem I am running into is separating fact from fiction (or shall we say myth)...

Some folks say the A-arms to use are the 99's on the pre-99 Cobras, others say to use the 2003's on the pre-2003 Cobras, while some disagree on the actual part numbers for those A-arms that are available when buying from vendors, etc...

I have a good lead ona set of super low milage 2003 Cobra front A-arms and was considering purchasing them from a private owner. I have some questions though and was wondering is anyone here on this site can assist or at least provide some factual answers, more so, than the standard "Mustang websites" out there...

I even went onto Diversified Marketing's website and they list (3) different front control arm Ford part numbers 1) pre-99, 2) 1999 and 3) 2003/04....

It's a given I don't want the pre-99 A-arms, because that is what I already have on my 94 Cobra.

So - the questions I have are these:

1) are there any siginificant differences or changes in the 1999 and 2003/04 A-arms?

2) if I purchase the 2003 A-arms, will I need to purchase new sway bar end links, or will my stock 1994 sway bar endlinks still work (length of them the same as 2003)?

3) if upgrading to the 2003 A-arms, what affect does this have on suspension geometry (if any) and will my front tires still be tucked under the fenders as they are from the factory?

4) if upgrading front springs with say H&R's or Eibachs, do I still just go with the "94" part numbers, or will I need to look at parts for a 2003, since the A-arms would be from a 2003? Does it even matter? (probably not is my thinking)

5) are there ANY modifications needed at all to install the 2003 A-arms onto a 1994/95 Cobra? I guess what I am asking here is, are they a direct bolt on plug-n-play type of deal?

I know I'll be needing to get an alignment too, so that's not a concern.

I have done suspension work before, upgrades, modifications, etc etc... I'm not new to this, and have owned 14 prior Mustangs before, including a 1996 Cobra - but when i owned my 96 Cobra, I never heard of any such possible upgrades to the 99-2003/04 A-arms.. so, this is where i need some assistance more than anything with the questions above.

Thanks to anyone who  can help!

Since Pearson called me and begged me to answer the questions posted above because he was unable to do it I will try. as part of our agreement Pearson admits that regardless of the car I will always be quicker than he is, on any track, in any condition and on any day.

He will now call me King Tone and I will wear my crown proudly.

1) are there any siginificant differences or changes in the 1999 and 2003/04 A-arms? No tonly he bushing rate changed.

if I purchase the 2003 A-arms, will I need to purchase new sway bar end links, or will my stock 1994 sway bar endlinks still work (length of them the same as 2003)? The end links configuration has more do to with the ride height of the vehicle than anything. if the car is lowered you will need shorter end links.

3) if upgrading to the 2003 A-arms, what affect does this have on suspension geometry (if any) and will my front tires still be tucked under the fenders as they are from the factory? It has very very little effect on the geometry, it's so little I would not worry about it. The real changes were made on the actual K member not the A arms.

4) if upgrading front springs with say H&R's or Eibachs, do I still just go with the "94" part numbers, or will I need to look at parts for a 2003, since the A-arms would be from a 2003? Does it even matter? (probably not is my thinking) You can use any spring that will work from 94-03.

5) are there ANY modifications needed at all to install the 2003 A-arms onto a 1994/95 Cobra? I guess what I am asking here is, are they a direct bolt on plug-n-play type of deal? They are bolt on, no mods necessary.

Okay Pearson, I expect a 6 pack of Bass to be given to me from you as a thank you for helping out this young man.

See you at Beaver Run.
