I know its been a beast of a winter, but is anybody awake up here in the frozen North? Spring is almost here, just a few hours away so there's hope we'll be gettin' our Cobras out of storage soon. :bounce:

I had my Cobra out a few days so far. It's just too hard to resist when we get an occasional sunny, 50 degree day.
Spring will be here very soon, hang in there!

Before you know it, you guys will be at Gingerman running the track in the cool weather  while the rest of us will still be in the seering heat!
If it's any consolation for ya..... I drove the vert yesterday and the Mystic today. On my next ride (tomorrow) I'll give ya a thought or two. :p

Yeah, I've been tempted to get my Cobra out but still too much salt on the roads. Besides, its backed into a corner of the pole barn with the tractor in front of it. We're not completely out in the sticks, 8 acres and two horses, so the tractor is used to plow snow. I'll wait a few more weeks.

the weather is warm -- but dreary --
we were happy to get some rain, but now, if the clouds would take a hike we could actually get Trigger out and put the top down!!
the coupe is sitting on the driveway.... I usually cover it, but the wind has been ferocious lately, so I left it off for awhile....
you know how Winddy wind can be....

Yeah, I've been there, Dave replied too. Good draft beer and horses! Both right up my alley. I've got an Arabian and a Norwegian Fjord. Its cloudy here today and looks like rain. Would be good, wash the sand and salt off the roads.

Hi Pam,
I am about an hour south of you. I think the rain we are getting this weekend is going to make the streets ok for the toys to come out.

Hi Brian,
Yeah, this rain has really helped the roads. Think I'll wait a couple weeks yet though, I've seen it snow in April a few times, such a great state we live in! Quite an impressive line-up of toys under your name! Awesome!

I'm just impressed that someone lives NORTH of Brian! LOL
Beautiful weather here in northern Illinois lately, and my Cobra "Helen Wheels" has been out sporadically.

the grass is greening up much faster here at our new place than at our last ---
just have lots more to mow!!
but its worth it!
you can have horses here on the property -- but it will be a very long time before we do...

The sun just poked out here, kinda chilly, only in the 30's. I like having my horses on our property, you really get to know 'em. Sounds crazy I'm sure but if you've had horses you know what I mean.;) My husband does the mowing and he mows way more than I would. I wanted to fence it for the horses but lost that battle, so he mows, but he's got a John Deere rider so not too bad a deal! :D Your new place sounds great! :bounce:

Hey Brian, I have a question, can you recommend a reputable shop where I can get a nice sounding muffler/exhaust for my truck? Its a '95 F-150 in great shape, low mileage (68K), with a nice looking conversion pkg. on it and I'd like to have it sound nice too. I'm shopping around and just thought I'd ask. Thanks for any tips you can offer! :bounce:

check into the Magnaflow's - they are awesome and reasonably priced.
I heard an F150 with them on and they sounded fantastic and he said that they helped improve the hp a little bit !! :bounce:

Thanks! Funny you should mention MagnaFlow. My oldest brother put that on his F150, he has an '02 and it sounds awesome. He is in LaCrosse, WI so its not too convenient for him to help me.
So, not to be too much of a tardo, but is MagnaFlow available through most muffler/exhaust shops? Talk about long distance running or horses and I can hold a conversation! :D
Thanks

thats an interesting question --
I remember a few years back they were offering a free system for Ford truck owners if they dropped their truck off --- but you had to drop it off at their place in California...
are you going to have a shop do it for you?
You may want to contact Magnaflow
http://www.magnaflow.com/01home.htm
I believe they should have a dealer search on the main page......

Yup, that sure helped! Thanks for the website  . I think my brain is going mushy, never even thought of checking the web... :banghead: :doh2:
I better check into availability, I have a great neighbor/mechanic with a lift in his garage, very reasonable rates and only about a 1/4 mile away.
Thanks for the info, you've been very helpful!! :)

hmmmmm......
that means, were in for colder weaather here also,
maybe not snow....
but definitely some extra horsepower when the thermometer dips below 40 degrees on a cool dry night!!!
the Cobra's love it....
just so,
like you said Cheryl --- it doesn't snow.... that wouldn't be so nice.... :(
but, we try not to think about it too much and this past winter we had below average snow fall here -- so in a way, I sort of miss it.
I'm also looking forward to our first snowfall here at the
Triple T N B Ranch !!

Yeah, its supposed to be in the 40's this weekend, so if it precipitates, it may be mixed with snow! We had a normal winter for a change, lots of snow and cold. I really don't mind it, I'm out in the cold doing chores (before and after work) and its just as cold in the barn, so I guess I get used to it.
I agree with both of you though, my ideal is between 50 - 70 degrees. Do you guys get mosquitos real bad? :thumbdwn: They're horrendous here :thumbdwn:
Geez....nine months of winter and then mosquito season.....hmmmm, I must be nuts! :dunno: :flip:

its beautiful here today !!
I hope it doesn't snow for you.....
mosquito's? it depends..... usually there not too bad until late August, then the first frost is right around the corner so their zapped.
It also depends upon where you go. And, if your neighborhood keeps puddles and low levels of water emptied.... we do have a pond about 3 houses down from us -- but we also have geese, birds, hawks, badger, racoon, etc. etc. and they usually help eat the bugs...
I think though that we will get a few zappers for each end of the yard this year -- just in case....
I had forgotten all about mosquitoes....
I was just thinking that it is time to give Buddy and Hank their flea and tick treatment....

Well, I'm happy to report it didn't snow! :bounce: The temps have been in the low 40's with a dab of sunshine mixed in. ;) And I got my Cobra out today too :woot: Took it down the road and back into the barn cuz more snow is predicted this week :thumbdwn: Hopefully it won't, or shouldn't amount to anything. Waiting for it to warm up before I put Scott's letters on the bumper.
Gave my kids their Spring haircuts (4 peke's), they're looking spiffy! :clapping: :bounce:

The mosquitos get so bad around here its almost impossible to be outside when the sun goes down. So much water around here, plus we're out of the city and they don't fog or spray for those pests out here. :blast: :touche:  :jason:

thats awful ---
do you use some of those electric bug zappers ?
I've got to do something here - I'm allergic to the bug spray and with a pond 200 feet away -- I know were probably going to be loaded with bugs ...
I don't want to spend evenings inside....

We don't use bug zappers, I just use bug spray. The horses have fly sheets and leg wraps to protect from the biting flies. I hear the new carbon dioxide mosquito killers work very well. Sorry, but I don't remember the actual name but I guess they use a tank of propane which is supposed to emit or turn that into carbon dioxide which is what humans give off and is what attracts what I call the MN state bird. Yeah, I know, don't quit my day job....I'm not a chemist! :D
