Hey everybody,

I am new to the coilover set up. I just finished installing MM's front and rear coilover set up with bilsteins. And when I test drove it today coming from the Passenger rear was a hollow knocking or thud noise when going over bumps. I have the same noise in the driver rear but it takes alot more of a bump to make the noise. If I'm not mistaken the it will be a little more louder with the delron pivot ball and nylon or aluminum socket that the ball sits in, right. Is it possible that the upper shock mount is not tight enough? Or is something just not sitting right in it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey!
I just installed MM front a rear coilovers on my White 01 Coupe also. I was having noise from the front drivers side, but I guess it was just because the spring wasn't in the perch correctly when I lowered the car down. I'm sure you put the black bumpstop on the top of the tower (with the washer of course) when you put it on the rears. I just basically hand tightened mine because the rubber bumpstop will compress a bunch. Check to make sure the spring is in the perch correctly when you lower it off the jack.

Do give Chris at Maximum a call....he was able to help me out. Let us know how it's coming along.

Thanks guys!!

I think I might have solved the problem today. I jacked the car up and both springs were in the perches. But one thing I noticed was that the upper shock mount on the passenger side was not as tight as the drivers side. So I jacked up both lower control arms and loosened and retightened both upper shock mounts the same amount. And when I test drove the noise was gone. :D I did like they said in the instructions both times when tightening the mounts, I might have went a little less the first time as they said not to tighten them to much.
