What year did they stop putting the forged pistons in the 5.0 mustangs. I am looking at a 1993 cobra and I was wanting to know if it had the forged pistons in it. Thanks. Andrew.

The last year of forged pistons was '91 or '92. The 93 cobra, including 94/95's have the Hyperutectic (sp?) pistons.

Maybe not... My friend has 109k on his '95, still running strong. If you start talking boost or juice maybe. ;)

'93 started the aluminum hypercrap pistons.
They are a livable piston... they're just more sensitive than the forged, obviously. They can take a power adder of modest levels... such as 6psi blower (tuned correctly and treated correctly) or up to a 100 shot (also tuned and treated properly).
Get greedy with 'em and they show you the ugly side real quick.
