Just wanted to check in, this looks like the best Cobra club/forum and I look forward to contributing. Lots of reading to do first, though.

I just bought a black 2004 Cobra convertible this weekend after a woman smashed into my RX-8. The power is intoxicating, but from what I have read here, I'm gonna want new exhaust, along with a Predator (among other things). Is that a good place to start with mods? Y'all have some impressive rides here.

I hope to meet some of the Houston crowd soon.

Ouch! The Texas peeps here are fairly active, and as nice a buch of people you'll meet anywhere. As far as aftermarket parts...oh yes, they'll wake it up like nobodies bidness...heh. If you get started looking for a Predator, I have a brand new 2 week old one that I was using on my Cobra, I just broke down and bought a Procharger for it, yep, I know, insanity for a 2004. I'll part with it for 200.00 :)

Welcome in, strap in tight, and enjoy the ride!

Welcome! the houston gang is quite active -- you'll want to do the TWS event next month for sure!!! :thumbsup:What a great idea! I've been meaning to go to one of those track days at TWS anyway, and I would love to learn some tips and see some fast Cobras.

This car is so different to drive than my previous one, I feel like a total noob behind the wheel. Hopefully, I'll get the feel of it a bit by then.

Thanks for the welcome and the tip.

And Butcher, I still have to learn a bit about this car and how it works before I start programming. I was just starting to figure out the mods for the RX-8 when it was smashed. I had a piggyback ECU chip for that, the Predator looks like it actually modifies the program, right? I hate being a noob. :baby:

:hello: speederdoc

welcome to the forum... we have an awesome crew in Houston.

What part of Houston are you at?

The Houston crew is usually hangin out in the South Central (http://www.svtcobraclub.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=42) forum of the message board.

You just missed our Austin Cruise we had this weekend, which was a total blast. We do that every 6 months.

For TWS info, here is the TWS thread (http://www.svtcobraclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6433) and the TWS Event Page (http://www.svtmustangcobraclub.com/pages/tws04/index.htm).

You can easily sign up for TWS online at the TWS ONLINE Registration (http://www.scmcstore.com/store/product.php?productid=2&cat=2&page=1) (you can also become an official club member online there if you choose).

Every Tuesday, we have a dinner and get coffee at Starbuck on the North side. We usually post the information each week on Monday. Keep an eye for it if you are interested.

Looking forward to meeting you (you too butcher)

What part of Houston are you at?Thanks for the kind welcome.

I live in Clear Lake, and work in the medical center (lots of fast highway time, against traffic since I work nights :D )

I've already reviewed the TWS stuff, and will try to go on Sunday. It looks like it will be a blast. I might hook up with y'all Sat PM in College Station.

Great forum, everyone has made me feel welcome!
