Basically, my stock upper control bushing are splitting and some of it's squishing out. I have new upper and lower control arms coming, and I was wondering if I could still take the car to the drag day like this. I guess i'm asking is, what's the worse that can happen??

The Worse... the rear can step out and take you sideways :D think unevenly putting power down or the rear pointing the car to the side instead of straight forward... but that is an extreme situation and usually more from bent control arms. You just have to see how it is reacting. I am sure other have more insight into this..

Thanks. The reason I ask is this..... I will not have my new control arms before the drag day. And I really want to go.... This is my dilemma.

Do you still have your issue? If so I live about 15 minutes from the track and have a shop behind my house. I have an extra set of uppers from a 95 which I could loan you just for the day. Are you interested?

I'd be interested. I don't want to be the one to crush your bushings though. I'll be launching as hard as the tires will allow. I can pay you for your services....... Also, what kind are they??

Thanks a million.

I have a set of factory uppers and a set of factory 5.0s. I am assuming the bushing that is coming out is on the control arm and not the rear axle. You will need to get here early enough for us to make the swap. I will be racing on Saturday. Sometimes the installation takes some time because of alignment of the holes to insert the bolts. I figure an hour.

I need to take some time to think about all this before I drive 6 hours down there. I will let you know if I'm going to make the journey down there as soon as I can. Thanks a million.

Okay, thank you for offering up your time, and your control arms to me. I really appreciate it, but I'm going to have to pass. I won't be able to make it down for the drag day. I have to take a mission to Lajes, Portugal over the weekend. Thank you very much, and you guys have fun out there.
