Charlotte, NC Meet in January

As most of you can tell, I've been really busy lately with the Holidays and work but I'm going to find out about having a get together at Victory Lane Karting in January. They have new go karts that are supposed to be a lot faster then the previous ones. Afterwards, I'd like to have a "Carolina Meet" so we can discuss the 2005 seasons' events and open up a forum for any member to ask questions, give suggestions, or just a chance to get together. Nothing has been done yet as far as reservations but I'll get the information together for everyone. I'm thinking January 8, 2005 with dinner at Carlo's Italian Restaurant unless some one else knows of a better meet place that can accommodate at least 20 - 30 people?

3 races - 1 practice, 1 qualifier, 1 actual race. (6 min, 8 min, 10 min) or you can run more for $5.00 more.

The cost is $50.00 per person. They can have as many as 13 carts on the track at one time and they have the new 9 hp engines which I hear are very fast and can reach speeds of 35 mph. If you have your own helmet then I would suggest bringing it with you. All of this is set up on a 1/3 mile road course! :bounce:

Also, we'll eat Italian afterwards and have a meeting to discuss the 2005 events. I'll update the list as we get people signing up! :thumbsup:

hey Infamous, when you come up to the 77/85 interchange, after you go past it, look to your right, there is a long white building, on the corner of the building is Victory Lane. Take your next exit, right off exit, then next right, go to bottom of circle, and follow the driveway around to the karting center. Hope that helps!

no problem, I used to go there two or three times a week. It is very addictive. Those karts are the best you will ever ride. I am looking forward to this. It should be a good time!

Greg, got a question for you about your Headers. I'm going to upgrade to the Whipple supercharger in April/May and I want my exhaust to flow free. So I'm going to get a set of LT headers! I've got the H&R springs on mine and I don't want the headers to drag, any suggestions? Do yours drag with the Kenny Brown set-up you have?

Sure, it takes about 2 1/2 hours from Raleigh to get to the kart track in Charlotte, so I'm planning to stop and wait for SCMC cruisers to meet me at the Hardees at NC 54 (take exit toward Chapel Hill, Hardees is on the left) and I-40 around 11:30 AM this Saturday. I sincerely apologize for not showing up today...my car was getting some work done on it and was supposed to be done by 2pm...needless to say, we had to tweak some issues and it took almost 2.5hrs to fix it...I tried calling Victory Lane, but couldnt get an answer...again im sorry, hope everyone had a good time and look forward to the next time around...

Well, we all had a great time and you still could have eaten dinner with us as it is always fun when you have 30 plus members eating dinner together.

I got black flagged at the karting facility for "going too fast". I said, WTF, I mean if you didn't want me to run wide open then why not govern the karts down. They said I was too aggressive and was bumping too many others around the track. Thanks to those yo-yo's I went from number 5 to number 11 in the final race. That was not fun but the event sure was a lot of fun for me anyway! :thumbsup:

I guess the funniest part was when I literally did a 360 in the middle of the track. :rotf:

Glad I got to go out and have a little quality time with the rest of the club. There's always next time for you. :)
