I was just wondering if anyone has used Custom Performance in Concord, NC! It's one of our vendors at SCMC and I was just wondering what they tune with (SCT...) and what kind of service and things to expect from them? If anyone has any info I'd really appreciate it, if not I guess I'll be taking the drive up to True Blue Performance near Raleigh, NC!:)

I've had mixed results using them. I was not happy with a good bit of their work and I've gone back to using True Blue. Custom does not do any tuning they use a third party that uses EFI solutions I believe. I personally would give Scott at True Blue a call for your tuning needs. JMHO!

Underground is located behind the Costco, and The Men's Club on Tyvola Rd. I have heard some good things about them. They have a beast of a Viper GTS there, 825 hp to the wheels, something like that.

its got a little bit more than that ;) , but I dont think they have it anymore...I believe the owner sold it for a 2004 Viper :bounce: ...you should check out the owner's Saleen...its pretty nasty as well

i have used custom performance for some time now they do good work just takes sometime to get things done like motor work. the small stuff they can have done in a day or two. i have a 95 corba that puts out about 500 at the wheels that had most of the work done at custom performance. They do a clean job. The guy that they have doing the tuning is going to do my car he has done some of my friends cars and they have been happy with him. I know that he is up there about 2 time a week with the dyno just have to call and see when he well be up there.

this guy gets his work done at Custom Performance:D

as for that Viper, I knew it was more than 800hp, I think it was pushing 880hp to the wheels.

the only downfall with Underground is they proudly show their street racing videos on their website. Not very smart if you ask me, nice to watch.

I have also had great results from Custom Performance, Dale has done all of my upgrades and have had great results with no problems. IMHO

Yeah, the last published numbers were around 880rwhp...and its true they do have some vids up on their site, but for the most part I think everyone takes it to the track now...too many other idiots out on the roads to contend with...I too have heard good things about Custom Performance, just offering up other options...

FYI--there's a cruise-in in Kannapolis this saturday, cannon village I think, if anyone is interested. Some of us are trying to meet beforehand over at the Hooter's in Concord.

I personally have had very good work with CP, but no tuning done.

Info please on Sat. event. What time at Hooters? Xmas idiots should be in full swing in that area (I live near by, so does Snaps)

I would like to suggest you give Rick of Amazon Racing a call. Website www.amazonracing.com. He is located 1 hour and a half from me..and he and he alone will do all my work..that is what I can not do. His tuning is so, widely known that people have and will travel from as far as South Carolina or Mass. to get him to do the tuning. Thier speciality is 03/04 but, they work on any Cobra, Mustang and Lighting or Ford Product. I can not begin to tell you how many Cobra's I know of in my area alone...let's say at least 20..that he does the work on..and only he is allowed by the owners to touch thier cars. I have been to thier shop on a few occassions...and it is nice with a dyno and lots of shop space. In fact...while my 98 was checked by him today before it was sold..he did a tune with a car on the dyno and chip..and it was killer!!! I would say you would not be disappointed. Just my .02.

I didn't know it, but I just found out that there's a SCT dealer in Belmont, NC! That's less then 10 minutes from my house, so I'll have to check them out to see what kind of work they do!:D
They also have a in house dyno too! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I'd like to say thanks for giving me the info about True Blue! I sent an email to Scott at True Blue and he was very helpful and gave me some great suggestions! Now all I need is some money to do everything!:rotf:
I told them that I'd be doing everything at once so that I can get it tuned and have everything set-up correct the first time!

Thanks again,

-Jason

The name of the company is Precision Dyno, the contact name is Tom, but I haven't called or been there! A couple of us in Gastonia are trying to figure them out and get some info on them so that we can have our cars dynoed and see if they are a reputable place!

I'll keep you posted when I find out some info on them!

Well my experience with Tom at Precision Dyno hasn't been a pleasant one for me. He made promises he didn't want to keep and I'm not very fond of going back there. So I recommend Dan Desio in Charlotte and we can schedule a place to have it if you like?

That would be great! I'll let Trevor know about it, he's been wanting to get his dynoed since he's put on his cat-back and CAI!

Matbe getting in a little late on this conversation but anyway, my 2 cents worth......Dale at Custom Performance had Pro-Dyno come out and work his magic and they (Dan DeSio) did and excellent job. Even found alittle more HP for my snake.
