OK, so

Any suggestions on type? Mounting?

since the only metal body work on my vert are fenders, quarters and doors, the mag. antenna supplied with most kits won't work. Also, most rely on the mounting surface" as the "ground plane".

BTW, this thing is great in my truck..

A co-worker of mine just got his wife the XM radio and they had the antenna mounted on the firewall, which didn't give the radio a great sound, but then they changed the mounting on to the roof, which made the sound crystal clear! They have a Jeep, but I guess this info really doens't help you out does it?

I thought the 03/04's were set for the satellite radio..with the use of the stock antenna...you mean if I do this I gotta add that freaking antenna to the car?? Oh well...guess that means no satellite radio for me..besides...we have a 6 disc changer..and thier are radio stations where ever you go..so why pay for radio??

I thought the same thing at one time but after hearing a sat radio, I am a convert. No commericals, no editing for foul language, crystal clear sound, and to me the best part is it tells you the name of the band and song as it is playing.

that is cool about the sat radio, telling you the artist, and song title. Hey Jeff, Snapps has his mounted on his trunk. Will this not work for you? His is is the center, along the back edge of the trunk line.

Read my sig. 99'. And yes, sat. radio needs an antenna, the stock one is an FM antenna/

There are many antenna designs. just wondering if anone found a good one for our cars (verts)

Not sure how snaps mounted his maybe double stick tape, but the antenna needs a metal base for the goundplane.

and this thing rocks. Son and I drove from CHA-ATL and then to Birmingham and never lost a signal or had a lack of music/news/sports that we wanted to listen to.
