I cannot claim a kill since I was not trying to race, but I was playing around a bit. :D 60 degree weather, clear sky and dry pavement in the Beginning of January is rare in my area. I can understand why the streets of Allentown were busy with sounds of Harely's and the like with the occasional hot rod rumbling down the road. Time for a cruise! Head out for the highway since there are many connecting sections that make for a nice road track. There were more red/white/ and blue flashing lights with the occasional import out front on the side of the road. The staties were out in full force and sitting at their usual spots. On the way back I spotted my first target but unsure of its capabilities since it looked a bit modified (Late model Trans AM/Firebird of sorts which looked like it was missing part of the rear bumper assembly). As he passed me (I was only doing 50MPH) I noticed the driver rolled down the passenger side windows just to hear the sweet sounds of a real car wearing the snake badges and a blue oval. That little LS motor pulled his car forward a bit more as traffic was moving a bit faster in the passing lane. After dodging the NASCAR wanabees (moms driving the mini-van who tailgait anything in front of them while talking on the cell phone) as well as leaving the guy in his Nissan SUV behind (I can tell he was trying to catch up). Then a boat of a Cadillac cut me off and slowed me down a bit. Once all of the conjestion had cleared up after passing the Airport and Malls. Finnally open road and barely any traffic. Low and behold that little LS1 was still puttering in front of me. I had to change that so I moved back into the right lane and slowly closed the distance between vehicles. My guess is that the driver was aware of my manuver so he pushed the pedal to the floor. It did not take much effort to pass him either (due to all of the traffic in the left lane) then it became follow the leader in the usual manner. I did notice there was quite a gap between vehicles so I changed to the right lane and slowed down a bit so my rival can catch up. I decided to get off at the next exit and bypass the speed trap ahead ( I was down that streatch of road previously but in the other direction) I could have played longer but do not favor any pink slips being handed to me by someone cladded in a smokey the bear hat. There were far too many rule checkers out on the road making sure you only drive double digits that Sammy Hagar has an issue with ("I can't drive 55").

It would have been more fun if there was not as much traffic on the highway. Also, it would have been a different story if waiting for a traffic light, but the out come would have been the same. I have yet to loose to one of those challenges if it could be considered a challenge (not to many places with lights in my area where you can really hammer it without killing someone). Most of the time I just get sick and tired of those pesky VW's and hondas not to mention the Mopar hybrids built by Mitshubishi. For that instance, I kept the speed below 100mph due to other vehicles on the road. One thing I will not do is pass other cars on the highway at a high speed simply because you cannot garruntee that other drivers will not turn into you. It was a bit funny though since I could tell the other driver was not a happy camper since the only way he caught up to pass me was when I slowed down to exit the highway :D

great kill...i think:scratch:

Fortunately and also unfortunately, most poeple have no clue as to the power of the terminator. So I guess we'll just have to keep educating them!
