Those with a BLACK Car:

Do you regret buying that color....Dirt Magnet. Is it really that hard to keep clean?

If so which would you have bought?

I have not regrets buying it. I have not had a problem with keeping it clean. But I keep my cars wash on a regular basis even in the winter.

I could not have made another better choice.. Once you go black you never go back...It just looks too dame good when it's all cleaned up..

Plus I'm anal retentive....just ask anyone that knows me..

Don't touch my car I hate finger prints..

I traded in my 2002 Black Ram Air TransAM WS6 for my 2004Torch Red Cobra. Before that I had a black 1998 3000GT VR4, and a black 1996 Corvette. To be honest, I was looking for a black Cobra but was unable to locate one. I just bought mine in Oct 2004 and the SVT 2.9% financing for 72 months special made Cobras very scarce. I actually got the last Cobra in all of Central Florida.

With that said, I think it was a blessing in disguise. It is SOOOOOO much easier to keep clean. I'm a neat freak and I practically detail my car before going anywhere. I love the metal flake in the sunlight with the chrome wheels shining! I still think , however, nothing looks more mean than a black car just after detailing!! Good luck in choosing! Whatever color you choose, the upside is that it's still a COBRA!!!

I wanted a bright red cobra so bad:( . but i liked black and it wouldnt draw as much attention(or so i thought:rolleyes: )anyway im completly happy with black but be prepared to clean it alot.(I feel like a bad cobra owner if it isnt clean:D ) and it does show swirls alot more. But black cant be beat when its freshly detailed.

As far as black is concerned, probably the best color to get but the hardest to keep clean and smooth (just about any tiny scratch or imperfection will show when looking at it under sunlight.) I miss my 01 simply because it was black. When I traded it it, there was only one color available, silver which looks okay dirty and clean, but not as reflective as black when polished up.

I, like someone else that posted earlier, have had mostly black cars and I agree that they are awesome looking when just detailed yet rough looking when they get a little road dirt on them.

For the first time, I bought a car that was not black...the dark charcoal color.

I absolutely love it!

It has awesome flake in the paint and looks good even when it's been a couple of weeks without a detail.

Either way though, it sounds like you're 'in the market'...and you know, regardless of which color you're getting, you're going to be darn happy!

Good luck!
