I was curious if anyone had any experience with shifter upgrades that bring the knob closer to the driver. I feel like I'm stretching to reach the knob as I'm 6'3" and have the seat comfortably adjusted to reach the pedals and wheel. I also find it annoying that my knee will knock the turn signal off when I turn left - but there's not much I can do about that. However I have heard that the following shifter upgrade brings the knob closer and was wondering if anyone has used it:

If you have used it, is there extra noise associated with it - per the SCMC home page review of the MGW "Whisper Quiet" shifter?
Thanks for your input!

If you want an aftermarket shifter - MGW bar none -
If you've read the right up by Tony for the shifter, everything that Tony says is true. It's "whisper quiet", has a shorter throw than all other after market shifters, and the quality is the best around! The instructions included with the shifter make it so easy and give all the info you need for a do it yourself install. George (MGW) gives the most detailed instructions with each kit!
For the seat issue, they make a "Tall Man" seat rail extenders that will allow you to move your seat back about 4"! Also for the reaching issue, with the MGW shifter the shift handle is fully adjustable, so you can put it in any location that best suits you!:)

Any body can install one of these shifters. I want to know if they work. I have broke the Hurst and the others don't look comfortable. I think this MGW looks like it would rotate if you don't install the top at 90degs, of the shift patern. If you hit it hard will it rotate on the shaft? How is it located on the main shaft?

I am 6'4"/235#. It took me about 2 days of driveng my car to get used to it. I don't know how long you have had your Cobra. I had a WS6 and hated the feel of the shifter placement the first day. Now I am part of my Cobra and it of me when I drive.

Mgw shifter read as much on it as possible and asked questions also. There even was someone with the same concern about movement and tried to make it move did not happen the shifter held tuff.

edit:unless I want to come skiing, then i wont be able to help you...but i am trying to get out there

No need to worry about breaking the MGW shifter. It won't break and it doesn't move. It is awesome!! I have a video of how strong the handle is if you want to check it out, just pm me.
