Could anyone tell me where I can get one of these at? I've got the Intercooler Reservoir Tank (on the left) but I would like to know where I can get the one on the right. Anyone know?
Thanks

Infamous~I know that canton sells them. I think they are the only ones manufacturing or selling them. Blueovalperformance.net sells them for 179.99 on special with free shipping. If you give them a call the guy's name is Chung, he's a really good guy. Hope that helps.

What do you think will be gained my installing an aftermarket intercooler reservoir?

Dude, your money will be better spent elsewhere. The longevity of the ice in an aluminum box sitting under a hood in a hot engine compartment under boost will be measured in minute(s). Their claim of a 14 hp increase will be on the first dyno run under ideal conditions. By the time they do the second run most all the ice will have been melted. It could almost be described as a "flash reading". Actually a heat exchanger down wind of the supercharger does not add HP. It decreases the likelihood of detonation and will allow for a more aggressive tune, something which you won't be able to take advantage of since the ice will be very short lived. The HP they claim their system produces is most likely the result of the ECM sensing lower IAT2 temperature and advances the ignition timing. Once the ice is all gone the temperature goes up the ECM will retard the timing which will evaporate your 14 hp gain. If you don't beleive me why don't you ask the Vendor if there is any merit to what I'm saying :baby:

SlowSVT - I was just simply asking a question about the product to get an idea of what everyone else thought about it. I mean, it's not like more intercooler fluid is a bad thing. It probably doesn't put out that much horsepower, you're right, but it will help some, and if not it sure will look cool under the hood. This is just my opinion and I was just asking a question to see what everyone else thought about it.
I appreciate your thoughts on the subject though.

Just to toss my 2 cents in..... These reservoirs allow for ice, but they also hold more coolant (intercooler reservoir) which will help keep the temps lower obviously... but the ice lasts longer than "minutes" in my reservoir (vortech). At least 20-30 minutes at the track. This is plenty of time to get a run in. The purpose of this box is to get you that ideal condition (cool inlet charger) for 1 pass down the track. After the run..... drain the Water out of the tank, and fill it back up with ice. Not a big deal. Now, on the street, ice won't help for long.

I thought we were talking about the one on the left. Isn't that one the engine coolant resevoir? I just want to make sure since I gave info on the engine coolant resevoir and not the intercooler resevoir :)

You might want to consider a Gord's heat exchanger instead. It will cost you $400 but it's will conduct 2 1/2 times the heat the stock HE will and willl work for you 100% of the time. On a cold day these cars get wicked :jason:

I already ordered the Intercooler Reservoir and I have received my HE already, both ordered from LFP, club vendor!
I figured with both of these upgrades the car will have a better chance of preventing heat soak. I realize that I can't use the ice for daily driving, but the extra intercooler coolant will sure help out!
Also, on a side note, I was refering to the engine coolant reservoir. Will this help in anyway? Or is it worth the $179?
I guess I should have said on the passenger side vs. driver side instead of left and right! :p
Sorry for the mix-up, but thanks for clearing up some issues I have been thinking about.

The tank should help since the plastic one (Factory) is not the best. I was talking to a Ford tech who no longer works for Ford (now owns a auto parts shop). He said that the resivior that was used since 93 is a poor design. I was looking into the same thing. He gave me the Crazy Horse racing phone number and told me to check them out for mods if I want to go way overboard. He recommended to get a de-gas tank used on the Cobra R to remove the excess pressure and gasses that form in the cooling system otherwise the stock cooling system set up is prone to popping the resivior cap. There may be some merit in that since this is my second Cobra having the same issue with the coolant overflow. I found this while searching. I think the blue oval has better pricing.

I'm actually returning the Intercooler Reservoir I got from LFP. I'm going to get the one that goes in place of the battery and relocate the battery to the trunk. Also going to get the Canton engine coolant reservoir. I'm hoping with these two I will be able to keep the temps down when running the car hard.
This will have to wait for a while though, cause I have found a few more new toys to throw on the Cobra, but they won't be on until about a month!:D
