I would love to put some smoke headlights on my 98 mustang. I am having a hard time finding them and again distinguishing between real and "fake" ones. The only place I have been able to find them is from "ageclassic.com" . But on the site it lists them as smoke "style" headlights for "off road" applications. Does anyone know if these are correct cobra smoke headlights or know of a place that I can get some? Thank you so much for your time.

Ford never made a smoke headlight for the 94-99.. The 2001 and newer do have a factory "smoke", but won't work in your 98' (94-98 have seperate headlights and turn signals, 99 and on have one piece.)

The offroad only refers to the fact that darkened headlights are illegal in most states.

If you go with those head lights you need to make sure that they are DOT approved I had some in my car and got a $250.00 ticket  b/c they were not DOT lights just a heads up. They looked good but I took them off I could not pay for a nother ticket if you know what I mean. But ageclassic.com is were i got them. i got them about 2 years ago so they may have the DOT approved lights now I would call them and ask jsut to make sure. Hope this will help.

I got my smoked lenses from www.blueovalindustries.com. I have since purchased the smoked fogs too. the headlights were great fit and finish, high quality.

issues with the fogs...

the lenses were kinda loose off the back part of the unit when i got them, no big deal, a little superglue did the trick. the other thing is that they are not a "fog" lens. i believe it is the reflector part (backing) of the lens that changes the type of beam that is produced. their smoked fog lens is a driving light, so it will not project on the road the same way the facotry lenses do. also, it seems that the very center of my fog lens has melted a little bit, no longer looking nice and clear. this is pretty unnoticable to everyone else, just one of those things that you notice when you wash the car. i am not sure if this is because i ran silverstar fog bulbs for a while (maybe hotter than reg bulbs?), or if this would have happened anyway. another note on those silverstars for the fogs, they suck. did not last long, and very little blue hue recognizable thru the smoked lens.

i hope this helps!

here is the link to a couple pics of my car so you can see the lenses.

more recent photo's with the fogs, but not very noticable from this angle.
