There is a rumor that there are dealers taking orders for the SHELBY. I have contacted one who politely told me I would have to come down in person to discuss it. I will investigate this next week as my schedule is a cluster for this one. Anyone heard anything like this???:D

Yes, I have provided a down payment (reservation) for one of them. I'm number 2 in line at Capital Ford in Raleigh.

I understand that Redfern Ford in Camden, SC has a list started, no downpayments that I know of and no mark-up. I think that there are three maybe four on the list.

According to a friend of mine I spoke with yesterday - Sarasota Ford (Sarasota, FL) has started a list - $1000 down when you are put on the list. When a car comes in and your name is up, you decide if you want the car or not (depending if you like the color, options, etc.) - supposedly no mark-up. If you don't, you get your $1000 back and the next person on the list is notified.

We have a list started here at Parkway Ford in Winston-Salem. Our Ford rep was in not too long ago and he said that Ford was going to build around 10,000 units which works out to around 2 per dealership. Also, any dealer that has a certified salesperson and technician can get a Cobra. Therefore, dealers are going to very limited. I'm sure there will be a lot of mark up...supply and demand. We have been buying GT coupes and convertibles from other dealers, on ebay, and anywhere else we can get them to try to satisfy the demand here. We are having to pay a premium just to get them and I'm sure the Cobra's will be the same.
Is that to say that some dealers will not let them go for sticker? No, they may do whatever they want. From a business perspective, price is dictated by supply and demand.
Good luck, if I can help I will, but I'm like you, if we could have more to choose from, I could sell more as well....

clarence has heard from sources that all predicted to be manufactured shelby's have already been sold; ie that as many as are going to be made have been 'sold' to people that have put their names on a list. You guys that have already reserved yours might be the only ones to get one!!!

...good things come to those who wait....;)
I just talked to my local dealer, Winner Ford in Dover,DE. they expect to get 2 or 3 07 Cobras. They want a $5K deposit which is non-refundable unless they can't deliver. Its 1st come 1st serve no choice of color or options. Also that 5K is on top of MSRP!! I can't see any dealer selling them for list. I think I'll wait a year for an 08. I also heard that in 08 they will offer a vert and a factory roll bar, this came from an inside source that was at the Cars at Carlisle Ford show 3 weeks ago. I saw the 07 there in person and it was SWEEET!!!

No 07 for me Todd...I'm with you, I'll wait till the prices get back to reality and the demand is less. :)
