Hey peeps...I just got back from a trip to Hilton Head, and I've gotta ask you all....
How on EARTH can you all bear the humidity?!? I must say that the scenery is most definetly breathtaking, but OMG...even with a vert, i was BAKED anytime i even went outside! The profuse sweating got annoying by like, the 2nd day  .....i know, i'm just being a :bawling: baby, but wow, i was soooo surprised.
I had a great time and did get to see the sites around there. Unbelievably, I only saw ONE Cobra on the WHOLE trip, and it appeared to be a Red 96 coupe in SC somewhere. I was hoping to run into a few more, and maybe ask them if they knew about SCMC.
Anyway, just wanted to drop you all a line with my whining. You really do have some nice states, even amidst all the rediculous humidity!

It does seem to be rather humorous, but like, every other person we ran into seemed to be from some part of Ohio. I'm not sure what the connection was, but it was reallhy freakin me out...man. :rotf:
Great time though...we even got to parasail which was the TOTAL bomb-diggity :woot:

Yes, the humidity can be brutal in the summer. Wreaks havoc with our Cobra's also.

same ? to you, how do you stand all that white sh*t falling from the sky for like 6 mths? Not driving your car because you don't want all that salt all over it (and cobras suck in the snow). :baby:
I lived in the "North" for half my life. I'll take the heat and humidity anyday over that freezing stuff..I can drive my cobra all year long, the motorcycle most of the year..
And BTW, you were at the beach, what did you expect?? :flash: :firebounc

The Ocean...
Which was pretty awesome, with some of the huge waves that were comin in from the outer belt of Dennis :bounce: .

there is no way those waves were affected by Dennis. From my experiences at Hilton Head, they have decent size waves there. Next time, go to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, then you will see true beauty. Try Buxton, NC. That is where the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is at.

I want to put together an "Outer Banks" cruise or meet for next year, who would be up for that?

are we talking the true Outer Banks? Kill Devil Hills, Avon, Buxton, etc? Or, are you referring to around Carolina Beach area? If it is the first, I would definitely be interested. That is the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to. They have to be the best on the east coast. I am sure a lot of the peeps from the eastern side of NC would be up to it.

The True Outer Banks and run down to the different lighthouses. There's only one "Outer banks" and I have been wanting us to go there together as a group for quite sometime now. :)

I would be up for a Outter Banks trip:thumbsup:
Stavesacre21 if you are into miniture golf, golf, go karts, or beachware stores then you need to check out Myrtle Beach.
Come down during Mustang Week and play:D
I grew up on the southside of Chicago. I do not miss the snow and ice. I hated having to shovel the stuff.:doubt:

there is only one Outer Banks to me, too. But, some people refer to the Wilmington part as Outer Banks, too. Why? I have no idea. That would be cool to see the lighthouses.

Yup Lake Erie! At least the river doesn't catch fire anymore! I grew up in Cleveland and was there when the river burned for THREE days!
If you want to come to the COOL south come down to Asheville, NC. This summer and last we have not had a day in the 90's. The evening temps drop to the mid-lower 60's. There are places down here that aren't as hot as the Beaches! :D ;)

You mean you still have some spare time to add planning another trip to your to do list? :p
As long as it is not during the peak tourist season I think it would be a fun trip.

Cough, cough...next year? Just trying to gauge the interest before I start a winter project. :rotf: I'd like to go see that play I missed due to the rainout.

peak tourist season there is nothing like the rest of the beaches. I have been there in the middle of July, and it is not "real" crowded. A spring run would be nice, though.
RF Cobra

Peak tourist season is still more crowded than the other times so why go then when you can go at a different time and have less traffic and fewer people to deal with. June-August = hot and hotheaded tourists. We pretty much have fall loaded with events already in this area (I know not every weekend on the fall calendar says SCMC event yet but I'm sure Tony is working on it...;) ). Spring sounds like it would be the best time both traffic and weather wise.

Aww come on, there are still four weekends open on the calendar in September and October that don't have SCMC events scheduled yet. Get to it! :whipit:

I wonder how much it costs round trip for a car cargo container transport to Hawaii...
I guess we better stick to the Outer Banks.
