Summary:
ON CERTAIN 2005-2006 CHEVROLET CORVETTES EQUIPPED WITH PAINTED ROOFS, THE ADHESIVE BETWEEN THE ROOF PANEL AND THE FRAME MAY SEPARATE.

Consequence:
IF THERE IS A COMPLETE SEPARATION, THE ROOF PANEL MAY DETACH FROM THE VEHICLE AND IT COULD STRIKE ANOTHER VEHICLE AND CAUSE INJURY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE.

Remedy:
DEALERS WILL INSPECT VEHICLES FREE OF CHARGE FOR POTENTIAL ROOF PANEL-TO- FRAME SEPARATION AND ADD THE SPECIFIED ADHESIVE FOAM OR REPLACE THE ROOF WITH ONE HAVING ADHESIVE FOAM. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON AUGUST 4, 2006. . OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438.

Well, the mineral grey vert is back up and running ($600 bucks for a battery and alternator:mad: ). CAn't wait to see ya'll. And we will see you around 8 at that same rest stop (can't remember if that was on 71 or 75, or maybe they had not split yet?) Then we will see Mike R down at the hotel later that night. I still have not heard from Chris, But I will give him a call. so he knows what up.

That's up for debate still, maybe my Sponge Bob lounging pants will help out. I'll be at the rest area 8am, it is on 71 / 75 before the split about 15 to 20 miles south of the Ohio River. Another vote for the leaving of the gate/chicane out on the turn down into the in-field. :baby: I think, since this will be the SVT's last visit there this year, that we should try that "one lap/best time" thing. I know alota people like to get as many runs as possible, but I figure if we could get like 4 runs then switch over, that'd be kinda cool. If not, no biggie.

Folks at the most I can let this creep upto 40 cars but that is the max and still have everyone get a full 8 runs. I limit the # of cars to make sure folks get the track time we promise. It would be unfair to the folks that pay early to cut there track. I can only put folks on a wait list now and work you in if there is a no-show. :doubt:

Remember you must be there for tech and the driver's meeting. If you are not there by the time we start the driver's meeting your spot is forfeit. :(

I've started a new business, so you'll have to hang with me till I get the glitches figured out. I wanted you to have them in time for the event. :thumbsup:

If you look at my avatar you will see a picture of the beast. I bought it about two months ago. I have run it at VIR and all I can say is WOW!! It started life as a '95 GT but except for the body itself not much of the GT is left. The car has a full Maximum Motorsports chassi including coilovers, k-member, torque arm / panhard bar, etc. It has a 331 stroker hooked to a reworked T-5 with a .8 fifth gear and a Torsen T2R diff with 3.73 gears. Brembo brakes up front and Cobra brakes on the rear. Full cage, fuel cell and the car weights about 3100 with me in it!

And before any one ask no it is not coming to 411 this weekend. I am getting it ready for Barber next week with the MCA.:thumbsup:
