Too bad you're not camping with us Tony, but I understand. We'll just have to get our share of picking on you during the day.

cobrabitn 07-21-2006 03:49 PM

Tom,

I don't mind roughing it but I'm sure I'll be worn out from the drive up and back and will need the rest because if I stay at the track, I won't get any sleep from all that partying y'all will be doing. Nevertheless, I'll stay out there as late as I can just to try and keep you and Brian straight! :rotf:

Lumpydogs 07-22-2006 11:13 AM

I just registered for the Cobra Nationals at Gingerman Raceway.

Had to order one of those sweet "got cobra" t-shirts also :D

PETSNKE 07-22-2006 12:22 PM

My check is in the mail :bounce:

LOUDERMILK64 07-22-2006 09:20 PM

I am trying to make plans to attend too

RF Cobra 07-22-2006 10:51 PM

No room at the inn. :(
Already booked solid for Friday night.

P.S. Cobra Susie you can register the day of the show or Friday night if you plan to come up then?

cobrabitn 07-22-2006 11:20 PM

Allan,

Be sure you mention the club's name as we have 20 rooms blocked for us. They need to look and see if they have them all booked or did you just call the 800 number? Call the hotel direct (the number is in the events packet) and tell them that the club has a blocked set of rooms. They should be able to fix you right up. :)

LOUDERMILK64 07-22-2006 11:29 PM

sounds good to me, thanks

Lumpydogs 07-22-2006 11:34 PM

If all the rooms get booked, try the Hampton Inn. Decent rooms and fairly cheap.

RF Cobra 07-23-2006 02:46 PM

Yeah, once we got the club discount setup she said all they had available was Sat. night. May call back and have her verify that the blocked rooms are taken.

Glad you like it. I just Iced mine again last weekend, but my Cobra is no
show car.

p.s. I have a sneaky feeling that a bottle of Turtle Wax Ice will be a 50/50 drawing prize at the track :twitchy:

NJ2000R 08-23-2006 10:53 PM

congrats on the new "mystery vehicle" :D

we're really looking forward to gingerman, having missed mark's july event....I've been there every year since 02 and twice a year in 03, 04, and 05

That's a pretty impressive record considering travel distance from NJ! It's going to be another great SCMC weekend. :bounce:

NJ2000R 08-24-2006 08:57 AM

including this year, a total of 12,240 miles logged between NJ and MI

tgentry 08-29-2006 05:52 PM

Does anyone know for sure if there will be a test and tune session Friday evening?

Cobra-R 08-29-2006 08:51 PM

Tom,

as soon as I can find the time, I have to call the track and get a few things cleared up. I will check on that.

mojosvt 08-29-2006 08:58 PM

I have a few other questions as well as finding out about the friday test and tune. I have a converable with an autopower 4-point rollbar. Do i need some sort of arm restraint? Also, I have a 6-point harness for myself. I am currently working on finding something for the instructor. IF I can't track anything down by the event, do I need to remove mine, so that driver and passenger have the same restraint? Thanks guys, can't wait to see ya'll soon, and meet a ton of new people. Mike

tgentry 08-30-2006 09:02 AM

I think having unequal restraints would be the instructor's judgement call. Speaking for myself, I wouldn't have a problem with the factory belts, but obviously I would much rather have a harness.

As a driver, I'm responsible for the safety of anyone else in my car. I try to make sure that passengers are at least as well protected as me.

Arm restraints have not been required in the past, and I don't believe there has been any change there. They are a good idea though.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Cobra-R 08-30-2006 09:11 PM

Arm restraints are not required, but I would recommend them. They are cheap and non-intrusive.

Tom is right, we would like the instructor to be protected at least as well as the driver, but the ultimate call is with the individual instructor. If you want to be safe, setup the passenger seat the same as the drivers.

Brian

tazzracing1 09-01-2006 11:54 AM

Tony
I just paid for the car show. I updated my info in the store and it kept my old mailing address and said my number was S.C.M.C. #1402 which it is 1142. I recorrected my address a second time and then it took it.

tgentry 09-01-2006 12:43 PM

GingerMan is just a few weeks away, and there seems to be an amazing lack of trash talk in here. Have we all become "mature"?

tazzracing1 09-02-2006 05:29 AM

I have yard space if needed just let me know? Tony did my info show up yet??

Lumpydogs 09-02-2006 09:52 AM

OK, it's time for my annual plea for newbies to join us at the track.

Dear Newbies,

Gingerman is a very fun and safe environment to test out your car and find
out what it will really do. All the people there are wonderful and helpful. The instructors are great(even T.G a.k.a. Mr. Spin and D.R. a.k.a Sandstorm)

Don't worry if it's your first time out. There's always someone on the track slower than you (i.e. Mystic Cobra w/S.C. plates) Heck, we even let ladies and farm trucks out there.

So come on out and join the fun :D

p.s. Let the Trash Talk Begin! :p
