While I know this may be a hike for some of you, it is also the one opportunity you will have to meet more SCMC club members then you ever have before from all parts of the country. The event will have an open track school, a car show, and the "Cobra R Challenge Race" where you will get to see Cobra R's running wheel to wheel in conjunction with the AV8SS. Also, if you enter the car show or track event you may participate in the "parade laps" during lunch for free. This is a controlled atmosphere with speeds not exceeding 55 on the track. You will be in a parade with other club members and participants from the event. On hand will be the Ford Racing trailer with display cars and merchandise for sale. The show trophies will be plaques and some of the most unique type you have probably ever won at any show. I hope many of you will put this event on your calendar for this year. Caravans are coming from Charlotte/Raleigh NC, Boston MA, Wyckoff NJ, Knoxville TN, and Wannamingo MN. If you know you will 100% be attending, please post here!

Glad you like it. I just Iced mine again last weekend, but my Cobra is no
show car.

p.s. I have a sneaky feeling that a bottle of Turtle Wax Ice will be a 50/50 drawing prize at the track :twitchy:

That's a pretty impressive record considering travel distance from NJ! It's going to be another great SCMC weekend. :bounce:

NJ2000R 08-24-2006 08:57 AM

including this year, a total of 12,240 miles logged between NJ and MI

Does anyone know for sure if there will be a test and tune session Friday evening?

Cobra-R 08-29-2006 08:51 PM

Tom,

as soon as I can find the time, I have to call the track and get a few things cleared up. I will check on that.

I have a few other questions as well as finding out about the friday test and tune. I have a converable with an autopower 4-point rollbar. Do i need some sort of arm restraint? Also, I have a 6-point harness for myself. I am currently working on finding something for the instructor. IF I can't track anything down by the event, do I need to remove mine, so that driver and passenger have the same restraint? Thanks guys, can't wait to see ya'll soon, and meet a ton of new people. Mike

tgentry 08-30-2006 09:02 AM

I think having unequal restraints would be the instructor's judgement call. Speaking for myself, I wouldn't have a problem with the factory belts, but obviously I would much rather have a harness.

As a driver, I'm responsible for the safety of anyone else in my car. I try to make sure that passengers are at least as well protected as me.

Arm restraints have not been required in the past, and I don't believe there has been any change there. They are a good idea though.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
