I am so looking forward to next year. I thought for a while there that I was really quick until I found out the reason I was running away from the cars behind me was that they were standing on the brakes to avoid my gas slicks!!:( Sorry about that.

We made it back to East Tn at about 8 PM so 15.5 hours including stops! I am going to crash now if the road buzz in my head will go away.

Thanks again for letting us hill folk come play!! You folks are great host!!:bounce:

Rick,

Great seeing you and Jayne again! It was also great to see Mike Bell's old blue car romping around on the track again too!

Hope to see you both again soon. I assume you are planning to make the trip here for next year's Nationals event - right?? ;) :bounce:

I've got a DUMB question: What is next year's Nationals? Is that an SCMC National event? If so, congrats to the South Central crew for hosting it - I know it'll be a HUGE SUCCESS if thats' the case!!

Someone clue me in, so I can start saving my pennies for next year's event lol.

For it's them that are keeping this club moving forward and bringing so much enjoyment to us members. And that goes for the national level all the way down to the Tuesday night dinner and SB get togethers. Job well done. Thanks again.

You must have missed the winky smiley at the end of my post :). You obviously don't remember me either as I was one of the people who helped organise/run StangBang (the Blimp Base portion) for a couple of years. While I am not suggesting that SB was the same as this event on logistical terms it was still a nightmare and not something I enjoyed doing. I fully realise how long an event like this takes to organise and how many weekends the organisers sacrificed for free in order to make it happen. I have nothing but respect for the devotion shown by the people behind the scenes who made this such a great event.

They have talked about doing two a year and with all the positive feed back we are getting from the participants of our events, it could happen. It comes down to getting a good date for the event. With all the new tracks opening up here in Texas it will make it easier to schedule a date for the event. There are a lot of others clubs that have there own events which are fun to participate in and this also makes it hard when event dates conflict with one another.

Just to set the record straight: I was kidding about that. It would be great if it happened but I do realise that the organisers have a life and family :D. As I said before: I've helped organise smaller events and they were a pain and took months of planning and a rather large initial cash outlay so I understand why it is an annual event. I feel lucky that I have been able to participate in the event for the past 2 years and I hope to be out there again next year.
