We could get more dates but I am worried about overload and not having enough folks turn out for each event to cover the clubs cost. :( If I get a big response to the sign up for all three events I might try to add some. :D

OvenMitts 12-08-2005 09:32 PM

I hope you still allow Subaru's. :D

LeadSSled 12-08-2005 09:56 PM

Good deal! I see that neither you nor Jayne could follow the directions about not signing up before January 1st. :D See you at the track!

LOHAN 12-08-2005 09:58 PM

I hope to make a few of those.

mojosvt 12-09-2005 10:30 AM

Really stinks that they are on sundays:( , I still hope to make a few trips down south this year, hopefully with a little more luck this time! Still have a few things to do the cobra before she will see track time (rollbar, which I fully stand behind). Hope winter is quick and goes easy on us. Can't wait to see you all again.

Being the organizer has its advantages!!! :D

TonyBolton 12-09-2005 03:20 PM

Maybe this year we change the course design/layout. I've always wanted to work out some kind of a "victory lap" finish to the whole deal(one lap around the oval).

TonyBolton 12-09-2005 03:25 PM

Also, we have enough time there for just about anything, we could have different "types" of courses in the same day. Perhaps have the autox part with about 4 or so runs, then change up and do like a "One lap around the oval/best time wins" type of thing. We normally get like 8 or so runs there, but doing a "change up" would be kinda cool. Course would not need messing with to make it happen, either. Just some ideas, and I'd be willing to help any way/shape/forum as well.

Uh oh. Most of these taxi cabs have oval track experience. So does Jason in the Nashville Vette. Be careful what you ask for...
:D

OvenMitts 12-09-2005 03:48 PM

I'd scare myself silly goin' balls to the walls for a full lap around that oval...

Jus' wanna spice it up a lil' bit! Maybe break up the cars/groups into race tires and street tires and give trophy's accordingly.

Jason 12-09-2005 08:47 PM

Put me down for all of them. :bounce:

Oh yeah, and this year it looks like I'll have a 2nd driver.

Oh yeah, she's got it bad. She's been autocrossing for most of the 2nd half of the season.

Good idea.

As much as I love the 411 events, they are getting a little redundant... maybe at least a course change With a one lap shootout at the end? It wouldn't take long...

Only I think it would be better to do 2 or 3 laps, with the first lap being a "Non-timed warm up".

Tony I take back all the bad things I said about you. :D

fasst94impala 12-12-2005 09:07 PM

I'll make it to at least two 411 events and I like getting dizzy!!! Bring on the oval shootout! If you guys enjoy it, we have Lanier Speedway scheduled for Saturday September 30 :bounce:

Hey Terry, you know that I love big cars and realize that "SSize matterSS", but your signature pic is annoyingly huge...but then again, you're all about annoying aren't you ;)

Rock on 411!!

I'll run if schedule allows it, but I don't have anything for a lap around the oval. :(

Yeah, I guess that's sorta my thing. And you are all about "whining". But I changed my signature pic anyway, so you will have to find something else to biotch about now. :D

If I went into the 411 event with your frame of mind of "HP WINS ALL RACES", I don't think I'd even bother to enter. I'm pretty sure I am in the very bottom percentile of horsepower at the events.

I don't need no stinkin' bottle to beat your LT1-dinosaurs! :p

Besides, I have side by side runs of a fastest run WITH N20, and withOUT. The difference is only a tenth or two.

Congratulations! You beat an old man in a 10-year old 2-ton 4-door.

I wonder what that ole 4-door will do after a winter of modifications?

But I'm not the one you need to worry about. Mark's gonna kick your ass this year in the 6-speed stroker car. He's got a few new tricks up his sleeve.

Just so I understand this, instead of turning down to the infield to finish, taking another entire lap around the oval before turning it? Horsepower won't benefit that?

I think it would be better to do it something like this:

At end of day have everyone line up at our normal place off the track.
One at a time enter track and pass start/finish line accelerating.
Counterclockwise around the oval and pass start/finish again (warm up).
Drop hammer and one or two more times around (timed laps).

Eh... horsepower-smorsepower. I just think it would be a blast to go all out for a couple of laps on the banked oval. Be it in a viper or a van, whatever.

So your race tires vs. their street tires is no advantage either? Some people would just think somethingl ike this would be "fun", and not try to over analyze it and look at it as a punishment. Geeez, heaven forbid you not beat someone at a random autox. :baby:
