So the deal is that the entry fees are waived for anyone who placed in the top 10 in both of the last two events, right? :D

Just downloaded the form. My check will be in the mail by Friday.

NO!!!

For previous top ten finishers the fee is double plus a 10% mandatory weight increase!!!! :D

Oh wait never mind that would include my wife and I don't have the dog house finished at the new house.

Man if I waived the fees for the top ten we would never have a chance at First Place because we all know Tony won't pass up anything that is free!!! :rotf:

List Updated

mojosvt 05-02-2005 03:31 PM

I had a blast in april, and if all works out with my schedule, I will be able to make the final 411. Can't wait to come out and play again.

Jason 05-23-2005 11:29 AM

Somebody remember to hide Jayne's keys.

Hazman 05-26-2005 12:01 PM

OK folks we need to get the registrations coming in for this event. The May 21st AX was the first time that we did NOT have enough people registered for the event to break even. :(

I know everyone enjoys this event so get those registrations in!

Thanks

BTTBSS 05-27-2005 09:24 AM

Top Ten

Rick:

How much would it cost each of us to run with 10 cars? The way it looks right now we would all be guaranteed a top ten spot. Bragging rights forever... priceless. On a serious note will you cancel if we do not fill out the roster? I plan to be there but could attend the AARP wheel chair hill climb instead.

mojosvt 05-27-2005 11:11 AM

Mine went out in the mail today. BTTBSS, your top ten is still secure, not a top ten contender:D

Hazman 05-29-2005 02:36 PM

We plan to hold the event regardless but I really would like to have a big turnout!!!!

budjrfan 05-29-2005 09:47 PM

rick,

have you still got the pdf of the map posted somewhere? if not could you email it to me?

i can't make the june event but i've got some people who are interested and want to give them the flyer and a track map.

later.........

OK, I've been advertising this events in every place I know in order to help fill out the field. I may have some drivers coming from as far away as St. Louis. I have some questions for you:

1) Where have the out-of-towners been staying on Friday night? If a bunch of participants have been staying in one place and have been happy with a hotel, I'll steer my out-of-town recruits there as well. That will help the newbies find the track in the morning.

2) Off the wall question: Are motorcycles allowed to run in this event? One of the taxi drivers works with a few guys that road race bikes. They might be interested in coming.

Hey - I'm just trying to help fill the field. There's only 2 Cobras/Mustangs registered for this SCMC event. I think that the taxis and Vettes skeered them all off. This deal is only 2 weeks away. It's time for everyone to get off of their a$$es. :D

tnturbo 06-03-2005 02:00 PM

I'm going to be running this one. I haven't paid yet, but I'm going to be there good springs or not.

Sloooowly sending my money in as well. I've got an 800$ tire bill headed my way, so every little bit of money I have is being put to use. Most likely see me signed up a week or so prior to the event.

LOHAN 06-05-2005 02:00 PM

I think I'll be able to make it out to this one. I'm really looking forward to it.

-edit-

Check/registration will go into tomorrow's mail. See ya'll in about 2 weeks.

LeadSSled 06-05-2005 02:53 PM

Great, that makes 13 participants! Only 9 more again before the event "breaks even". Come on Mustangs!!!

Can anyone answer these questions? Hazman, where are you???

tnturbo 06-06-2005 02:35 PM

If I were an out of towner staying the night...I would stay in Sevierville no questions asked. That way you can have a mini vacation going on if you want. Shopping destinations for the women folks, plenty to see and do, cruising at night if you like that. My $.02

mojosvt 06-06-2005 05:05 PM

Well, if someone finds a good place, I would love to stay with some fellow cobras. My fiance and myself will be staying fri night and sat night, and most likely thurs, if i can get off work. Just keep me posted, I would like to find some cool stuff to do friday, sat night, and sunday morning.

tnturbo 06-06-2005 08:16 PM

Mojo, you DEFINITELY want to stay on the Sevierville area then. Should be able to find some decent deals

Hazman 06-07-2005 06:56 AM

Sorry folks I am a little out of touch. We just moved and I don't have internet access at home or a personal email account for the time being. Internet access at work is being monitored!

Ah what the hell, let em' all in... this will be the last one anyway. Just put them all in a "bike class".

My check's in the mail by the way. :bounce:

Now that would be trippy.

cobrabitn 06-08-2005 10:52 PM

Okay, you can throw rocks at me now but I don't think we want to go the bike route. Nothing against motorcycle drivers but I'm not so sure our insurance would cover motorcycles and if we come close to breaking even then that's all that really matters. I appreciate you all trying to help "fill the field" and I wish I could be there but I should be good to go in the Fall in Birmingham!

I especially want you all to have a fun, safe event. Remember, helmets on when running the course and no passing in the turns! :)

LeadSSled 06-09-2005 06:38 AM

Cobrabitn - Well, that is what I expected the "official" answer to be, but I said that I'd ask. Of course, I expected that Yeller would say "hell yeah" too.:D

So Hazman is AWOL - been living in that house for a month and doesn't have an internet connection. If anyone see's Rick tell him that there is a new invention out - it's called a "dial up modem". He might want to check it out. I guess he doesn't have a phone line either. :doh2:

Hazman 06-09-2005 01:21 PM

As a matter of fact I don't have a phone line! OK so I did not get the cable or the phone in!! Big deal I did get my two post asymmetric lift installed and working in my 12 foot ceiling garage!! Priorities  :bounce:

Well, since your car breaks down more often than you need to make a phone call, I understand. ;)

FYI - Looks like I was successful in recruiting some folks from Nashville on the Tennesspeed Forum to come over for this event. Somebody has to drum up some business. :D At least three have said that their money and registration info is on the way. Quotes from the Tennesspeed Forum:

"RoX0r, BenS and I will be there!"

"LeadSSled, so I just read the thread over at SCMC and apparently Hazman's email access is limited. Just know that we are coming (I just now put the check in the mailbox) and we plan to represent Nashvegas baby!!!"

I don't think I have enough time to get a check in, so can I pay at the gate or use paypal?

Just show up early and pay and the gate. The field is nowhere near full, so there whould be plenty of room left. But remember that "at the gate" registrants are 1st come, 1st served until the field of 32 is full, so the earlier you come, the less risk there is of not having an open slot.
