I love hearing excuses.

Went to the street races tonight and whooped ass.
First race was a 94-95 Cobra with a built motor. Sucker was camming louder than my car. I was scared. He was on Nitto Drag radials. Took him from the launch and pulled away BAD. His excuse..... I couldnt hook. I told him wtf dude I have bald street tires and your coming to me with the traction exuse?!?! LMAO
So we went at it again. This time we launced about the same. We were side by side for 2 gears. Once I hit 3rd it was over. LMAO

Had a run in with a Modded srt-4 also. ****ER was fast. he said he had a boost controller, different blow off, i think he said downpipe? and a 50 shot of gas. Still put several lengths on him but I thought he did well!

By "street races" do you mean The Fast and the Furious style or at a dragstrip?

Siunara,

I think he means "street races" at the dragstrip. Probably just a local competition they have in TX.

I was thinking it would be pretty cool if a local dragstrip offered an open drag night. To get a chance to race in a controlled environment with no worry of police involvement against some nice cars would be a lot of fun.

They do just that at Bristol all summer. It's usually Tuesdays and Thursdays. $15 all night must have DOT approved tires on the car. They "run what they brung!"

All of the local tracks here in East TN have a street car night where all can run except trailered drag cars. You can bring your car on a trailer, but it should be driveable. No money just for fun so it keeps the "serious" bracket race types away

In TX, every road is a dragstrip. Flat and straight...

I have the state/city citations to prove it.

Good to hear from you again, Spiffy. How's everything?
Did you ever met up with JC?

Haven't gotten with JC yet. Been trying to exorcise the motor demons I'm having.

Everything is good. Tooling around in my 92 Slomaro back and forth to work and working for Nextel has its perks as well. Got free passes to the NASCAR race this weekend at TMS and had a great time. How's the NC gang getting along lately?
