i'm going to swing the dallas crowd over there if they'll still have us.

i don't see what could be so tough?

Coleman, I think you are missing the point, I dont think most of the group from Houston cares about eating pizza at a car dealership regardless if it is free or not. I myself would not be interrested in doing this. If you want to take Yourrrrr people knock yourself out. Were going to the Oasis in the afternoon as planned to have a good time.

It really is a PITA to get in and out of the place. I don't know if there is still road construction next to the dealership, but the last time I went that made it even worse. He is not exaggerating either when he says there is no parking. It is a very small dealership with as many cars as they can possibly fit on the lot. I can't imagine where we would be able to park 5 cars, let alone 20+ cars. I really think it was great of Lance to offer, but I too think it will end up causing issues trying to keep everyone together.

That's cool, it should be easier keeping 5 cars together than 20+. I'm trying to help keep things easy for the whole group. With that in mind I personally think it would be difficult keeping the group together leaving to go on the cruise. There is ALLOT of traffic in that area (especially on the weekends) since the largest mall in north Austin is right across the street, it's also where 290 bottlenecks from a 6 lane divided highway down to a 2 lane neighborhood street that is completely screwed up due to construction. Like I said, just my $.02, but to me it's more hassle than $5.00 of pizza is worth. I think it's awesome of them to offer too, and I wish they were in a more convenient location.

Having said all that, why don't we get a count of who wants to go, and let the guy from the dealer know who will be coming. I haven't told the guy we were or weren't coming, and so far I haven't had very much luck getting him to respond to my questions either on the forum or from PMs, hopefully you'll have better luck. If the majority of the group decides it's worth it, I'll go to help guide people out and to the cruise route, and I'm sure Chris (the other Austin guy) will as well.

So, sound off if you want to go to Leif Johnson Ford for free pizza.

I drove by there today to check it out for the cruise, the construction is still there and parking is a joke. The dealership employees all have to park on the street curbs of all the streets surrounding the dealership, some people were even parked on the sidewalks (and that is NOT and exaggeration).

I watched 3 different local Austin news casts tonight, the estimates are ranging from a 20% to 40% chance of scattered t'showers (mostly in the afternoon). So it's hit or miss whether we'll get wet or not.

Thanks IVAN

this is still on... btw..unless something major starts happening.

It was supposed to be flooded in Sugar Land by 8 tonight, but we haven't had a drop of rain.

I think weather people are all just guessing at this point.

as far as the Pizza, it would be cool if they wanna come meet us at HEB, but given the reasons so far, the group as a whole will not be going there, unless a small group sets up something.

if anything changes, you guys can reach me at 281-660-7347 since its right around the corner.

Sorry about the weather guys. Now it looks like the storm track goes directly to Austin on Saturday, but I'll see what I can do.

I should have a spare room anyway. If I go it is about 90% I will be alone, so I will share with Phil and can give up my room.

I will wait on the weather but may decide tonight not to go at all.

I suggest that we all make a group rain-out decision tonight or in the morning so as to not waste money or have only a few folks show up.

We can pick an alternate weekend in Nov and try again. This way we can all cancel our hotel but rebook with them so they don't get pissed or anything.

Well, the hill county will be no fun in a rainstorm. So if its real bad the whole thing will be called off and we will reschedule. Obviously everyone would have to cancel their room by 6p.m.

Having said that, this storm has done a bunch of wierd things, so I am hoping it will leave by tomorrow. It was supposed to flood a better part of Houston, and it barely sprinkled by me.

As far as anyone who had a spare room, before you cancel, post in here and we can see if those who did get a room in time can get it transfered to them.

For safety reasons, i want to put up a motion to officialy cancel the event for safety reasons. This will give everyone plenty of time to cancel their reservations. No fun can be had in the hill country with wet roads and alot of horsepower. According to the NWS in San Antonio, the chances of rain is above 40% at the minimum with most of the rain concentrated south & central texas. Austin weather predicts a 60% chance of rain on saturday and 40% on sunday.

I don't like big puddles and big tires skipping across the road....just too much risk for all of us IMO. I will be canceling as it is too much risk for me at this time with my new 3 weeks away from arriving.

EDIT: If it is not raining in the morning, i will re-evaluate and check the SAT and ATX weather before committing 100%.
