Hmmm, that would be like asking a kid if he wants dessert or veggies.

cool - I will look into that as well!

you guys are great...

it's going to be a long road -
but I have always wanted to do this -

I will need lots of help and suggestions...
keep them coming !!

I'm just curious why a few voted that they didn't like the idea at all....

my nephew has two tickets already and has been seen doing some pretty wild stuff --- id rather he learned in a controlled setting. My son is better behaved, but this type of thing would be awesome for them!

yes - your right...

but,
BUTT !!

I've done allot of research on this - there are several weekend or one day courses that a teenager can take - a little pricey, but worth it.

They all involve defensive driving, parking lot autocross - but most of all track time....

I'd be worried that these teenagers would rather spend the money for that and we'd be left with an event that may not go over well.......

remember -
I have a teenager -
I'm thinking as a teenager would...

spend the money on a parking lot event or spend the money at a course with both options...

hmmmmm, lots to think about .....

if you could find a track that is smaller and quickly learned and has an area large enough for skid control types of experiences that might be the best of both worlds. force the students to lear technique the first day or two and then put some of it to practice on the track for a day or so. they need to learn there's more to safe driving than starting out on a track.

unfortuantly outside of motorsport ranch in texas i don't know who has both

I'll tell you what...

from the response I'm getting so far,

it looks as if I'd better turn my research towards the parking lot/ autocross idea..

now, for a possible location

One thing to remember Bonny, most everyone here has their kids allready grown or are to young to drive. There will only be a few with kids in this age bracket. You will have a tough road trying to fill a course. expecially with traveling and expence involved.

Just reminding you of the obvious.

yeah,
I know,
your right....

don't ferget, I'm a little slow sometimes.

But I always catch up!

it's probably going to end up that I will need to go to the SVT Contour forum.... I will probably find allot of interest there....
if not... well,
then we will sign Tom up for the Audi or the BMW, or the Panoz course -
and maybe we could get a group purchase...

group meaning, 4 or 5...... or 10....

well so far,

I have the following:

volunteers are available if this comes about - depending upon the right circumstances.

most are recommending a parking lot event...

many of you are probably feeling that I am going to be pushing it with this project ......
you have every right to worry ....

so -
I'll keep doing my research, but I think I'm going to put this one on the back burner for awhile and think about a show in the midwest....

but anyone having any suggestions, comments or ideas -

bring them on ....
