on a side note, tony, if you are seriously interested in trying to cart during your pit stop in c-bus, maybe i will try and get the group together again for another karting day. Maybe stir up some people for gingerman?

Question Caravan Route

So what route is the Carolina caravan taking to Gingerman??

I ran Mapquest and it looks like either:
  • Mapquest recommended 77 through WVa via Cleveland to South Haven (837 miles, 13 hours 12 mins.)
  • TN crew recommended 40 to Knoxville, 75 to Cincinnati, 74 to Indy then Hwy 31 to South Haven (800 miles, 13 hours 33 mins.)
  • Buckeye recommended 77 through WVa via Columbus to South Haven (791 miles, 13 hours 18 min.)

Where in OH are you planning to stay and do the meet & greet, karting and dinner??

If you do it in Cincinnati then I might get some of the TN crew to come join in. The best route for the TN crew is 75 through Cincinnati to Indy then Hwy 31 to South Haven (554 miles, 9 hours 24 mins.). Looks like 8 hours to Cincinnati from Rock Hill.

If we go over to Columbus it is less likely we would join up. It adds 144 miles and 2 hours to the trip for the TN crew. Looks like 7.5 hours from Rock Hill to Columbus.

So what is the plan??

I will be doing the "buckeye" recommended route! That would be 9 hours for Ronnie Stokes from Columbia, SC. What we'll do is probably meet Dave at the VA/NC line like we did last time and go on up through WV to Columbus. Do an overnighter in Columbus and then go to South Haven Friday morning!

Participant list:

1. William Simmons, Royal Oak MI, 03 Cobra
2. Ken & Karen Walder, Wyckoff NJ, 00 Cobra R
3. Bruce Cameron, Waukesna WI, 00 Cobra R (Z06 wana-bee)
4. Jeff Talley, Merriville IN, 03 Cobra
5. Paul Sanford, Youngsville PA, 03 Lightning
6. Jayne Mcnutt, Harriman TN, Z06 Corvette *
7. Rick Mcnutt, Harriman TN, 97 Cobra *
8. Dan Mroz Merriville IN, 03 Superformance Cobra
9. Dave Stanfield, Raleigh NC, 99 Cobra
10, Charlie Sansone, Grayslake IL, 01 Mustang Bullitt
11. Dave Diehl, Hamilton OH, 1995 Cobra R
12. Larry Bolton, Battle Creek MI, 1997 Cobra
13. Tony Sorrentino, Rock Hill SC, 1994 Cobra

Instructors:
1, Tom Gentry, Rockford, IL, 96 Cobra

Will passengers be allowed to ride along in the cars during sessions? My father might drop by for couple hours Sat. and I'd like for him to see first hand why I'm so hooked on this stuff.

I'm not Brian, but in the event packet it states that for passengers to be able to ride with you, you must be signed off by an instructor!

Thanks,

I'm considering it. Any tips from your previous experiences?

I camped there last fall in a tent, near the rest rooms and the snack shop.
All was fine, quiet at night......a little cool, but what do you expect from Lake Michigan air that time of year.

Like Infamous mentioned, if your signed off by an instructor for passengers, you can give him a ride, otherwise he could ride with a instructor. Talk to me at Gingerman, we'll work something out, no problem.
