Verts must have a roll bar at all of the SCMC's track events.

OKay ya'll...the final numbers are $125.00 a day with a late fee of $25.00 if you wait past October 15, 2005 to register. If you do two days then the cost is $235.00 for the weekend/ Basically $117.50 per day. We'll get the registration form up in the store as soon as possible.

If we max the event out then we'll do a pizza party on Saturday night afterwards. If we don't, then we'll just try to pay for the event. I think it best we get the pit crew and pay them rather us try to do it so we can basically BS all day when we are not running. We will also have to pay a person at the gate to stay there all day rather than one of us do it by rotating. Remember this event is limited to the first 35 people that register. Thanks..

is that 35 runners per day or total for the event, even though some of those don't run both days?

35 entries (runners) per day. So if you are just doing Saturday then that's okay as long as you register first. That will leave a Sunday spot open for someone. First come, first serve. We will get the registration fee up in the store so you can register online and it will make it easier for Rick and I to keep up with it. Participants will be grouped according to experience.

On a side note...look y'all, I have run with some of you at the 411 and Talladega is a little more then the 411 as speeds can be greater. If you have a vert, please consider a rollbar to protect yourself. If something ever happened to any of you, I don't think I could live with myself for a long while. (Probably forever) Don't add that extra worry on Rick or myself. If we didn't care about you enough to know how much is at stake, I'd just let you run wild.

I totally understand about the rollbars. I just don't know if I'm going to be able to make it happen in time. If I can, I'm in. If not, I'll be in next year.

so by that last statement by cobrabitn, "If you have a vert, please consider a rollbar to protect yourself" does "consider" mean that is the drivers decision?

hate to beat a dead horse, but i have a buddy wanting to come to this event also. he doesnt have a roll bar yet either.

i plan on getting in on this event for sunday. i bought my cobra after the march CMP event(i had the pewter trans-am). i have owned it for a little more than 4 months now. drove it for the first week and a half, then burned the number 3 and 7 piston. the ford dealership has had it for the other 3.5 months. looks like i will get it back next week.

Any spots left?

Hi Tony,

I am going to come down for both days, if there are any spots left. I will watch the boards for the registration form.

BTW, I ran TGP last year with Atlanta SVTOA and it is a great track. I want to install brake ducts this year before we do it again. I melted the boots on the front calipers last year. And no, Steve, I was not riding the brakes !

I don't post very often Tony, and just to remind you, I'm Steve's dad. The Atlanta SVTOA is doing a 1-day on September 18th and I will be there for that one as well.

You have a great group, and I am looking forward to running with you again.

See you in October.

Jerry

Hey I have kind-of an off the wall question, would a Factory Five AC Cobra replica with drivers side "mini rollbar" (or whatever that thing is called) be able to run in an event like this?

That bar behind the drivers head on those cars is functional and tied into the frame...

Could these legally run in SCCA/HPDE events also?

Ben, The convertibles have to have a rollbar and it needs to be where the driver's head is below the bar when driving it. Your friend should invest in either a "bolt in" or weld in type bar so that you can be friends for many, many years.

Brett, if they bar is above his head, he is okay to run with us.

Jerry, hope to see you in October. I guess you gave up on drag racing...

I got the contract last week and we will be set to go for two days. I'm banking there is enough interest that the two days justifies itself.

Actually have not given up the drags. Last run was with you though, last fall in Jackson. Relatively stock setup getting 12.5 at 111 wasn't bad. I'm gonna try to make the November meet this year and see what the beast will do now with all the mods, but grandpa still shifting it.

The old guy beat me to it. Waiting patiently for registration, and the ID of the "host" hotel.

I'll be there both days also.

The registration form is complete, I'm waiting on Edmond to post it up on the website as he is just now getting his home computer hooked up tonight.

I haven't looked at a hotel yet but we need help finding corner workers for the two days...any ideas??

Tony, I know we talked about TGP back in March. When you get some time, call me about the corner worker issue.
