Fasst94Impala,

I met you down at Road Atlanta with Spencer and Jill (LTD). I was the dude in the Black Evo8.

Glad to see you are going to be down there, I am sending my stuff in shortly *(have to wait till payday). I may be instructing, still waiting to hear if they have a need down there. Anyway, I love TGPR, great track to learn on, I have rented it several times to work on my car, and to tune with my buddies and their One Lap car.

See you guys there....

I just signed up for Saturday. I ran the track in September with SVTOA-Atlanta and had a great time on that little track. I've heard a lot of good things about this club and I look forward to meeting you guys.

Awesome. Should be fun!!!

Also a heads up to the corner workers...glowing rotors and flaming calipers on a taxi is normal. When the paint burns off, the fire goes out and the calipers match the color of the car

Here is some vid of me at Talladega with my buddies Evo http://32vcobra.com/talladega0205/amsevo-dave.avi. This one is only doing about 360whp, but check the rotors in the corners.....fire is cool. Also, if you go to http://www.32vcobra.com, you can see alot of vids from Talladega, and Roebling (the codec can be downloaded from the bottom of the page).

About the suprashootout being part of the event SCMC had rented Saturday but not Sunday at first. The Suprashootout folks were trying to add the Sunday slot for a track day to add to their show n shine/dyno/and drag event. Just when they got enough entries to make it happen SCMC had already reserved Sunday too. Fortunately they were able to accomodate the Supra folks and that is why sunday filled up so quick. They already had entries. It should be fun having the American Iron mixing with the Japanese Rice.

As to TGPR it is a fun track with lots of runoff in most turns. Two of the curves have banking including the very fun sweeper at the end of the straight. Three of the turns have very late apexes and turn two well, it just doesn't have an apex. You see all kinds of lines through it. The track may not be long but you can hit triple figures on the back straight (even in my little honda) and it can be hard on the brakes because you don't have long straights like Road Atlanta to cool down your brakes. Turn One has quite a few tricks to it and entry to the turn at 85+mph is possible for those who don't mind staying in the gas as long as possible (well as is possible safely). You can also spin it down there when you get it wrong.

Try to be nice to my little four banger CRX.

Glad to see you on the board Barry. We need to have a conference call tomorrow night, did Rick let you know? We want to go over some thoughts before we go down there and this thing looks chaotic. The call will be tomorrow night at 9:00 p.m. and you will call a toll free number. Rick should have e-mailed you the information.

I think this event worked out for both organizations, SCMC wanted to do two days, so we took a poll. When we had several members coming long distances for the event we opted for the two day rental because they wanted to do 2 days.

I'm not sure how "official" the Supra Club is but SCMC has general liability insurance and we also purchased additional event insurance at a much lower rate then what the Talladega track was offering the Supra Club so they came out pretty good on that, too.

Don't let some of these guys fool you, at the 411, those imports do pretty darn good. However, I think this event will be interesting none the less.

Have Hoosiers will travel!

Tony

Hey Tony,
Is that conference call 9pm central? I have either put on quite a few events or helped others put on events at TGPR. It is an easy venue to put on an event with a minimum of staff. As long as everyone understands your rules chaos will not be a problem. I had an overheat issue with my car the other week (think I was getting inconsistent electrical juice to my meziere electric water pump. putting a mechanical one back on) so as long as I didn't hurt the car, I will be there with my CRX which looks like nothing but well, lets just say I sold my supra because this Honda is so much faster. Even if my car needs work and I can't run it, I will be there because I said I would.

I have many events under my belt out there so I think I can answer most logistical event management questions particular to this venue. I am sure you guys know how to put on a good event.Looking forward to it!

BTW no email from Rick yet on the conference call number looking in my inbox.

Barry H.

Brett,

If you want to split a room then we can do that. You can pay for one day and I'll pay for the other. You can let me know through e-mail what you want to do?

Thanks,
