progressive vs. fixed rate

I getting ready to order shock/struts/springs. Ill use Bilsteins, but cant decide on the springs. Fixed rate should help with wheel hope, better than prog.right? I want about 1.5 inch drop and the front and rear to sit level. Im willing to sacrifice a bit for perfomance, but dont want a harsh ride. Any recommendations appreciated.

Gord,

I recommend the Eibach Pro-Kit. Progressive springs. Lower 1.50" and
increase performance without the harsh ride. I've got them on my '01 coupe.
I have these springs with the Bilstein shocks and struts. They work great
together.

I eliminated wheel hop with poly IRS bushings from Maximum Motorsports.
These bushings did make the ride a little harsher.

Which Bilsteins did you go with. I was actually thinking of the Bilstein BTS kit. the springs are progressive and it lowers 1.25 inches? lower if I dont use spring isolators. I just dont want to buy progressive srpings and not have them be a world of difference from stock.

The progressive springs have much less travel then the stock springs. The
Eibach prog. springs give a little then get real stiff as they are compressed.
See linked pic. of my car in an approx. 0.95g turn.

I don't remember what Bilstein model I went with. Ordered them through
www.shox.com to fit a lowered '01 Cobra.

I think I will go with the progressive springs. with a 1.5in drop is it required that I get new shocks/struts? CC plates? I will not ever hit the track, only the drag strip from time to time. thanks for all your help.

The stock shocks & struts will work for awhile, but wear out prematurely.
Plan on replacing them in the next year or so. You will need to get a tire
alignment after the spring install. Most likely your car will have too much
negative camber. You will need CC plates to fix this. You can drive around
on 2 degrees camber without any issues except for the inside of the front
tires wearing quickly.

cliff notes, you will soon need CC plates and new shocks and struts.

Ill go ahead and wait to order the springs/shocks/struts/CC's at the same time. One last thing. Are the eibachs progressive in the rear as well?do they need to be.

The Eibach's are a matched set. They look progressive all four corners. I always assumed that they were.

If you go to the Eibach website, it explains that you need to do all four
corners. Unless your planning on doing some drifting, I don't understand
Prog. in front and fixed in back (unless it's a drag strip thing)
