Anyone had their heads replaced due to the tick that develops in the heads,,

I was just wondering if anyone has ever had to get their head or heads changed due to the apparent cooling issue in 1 of the heads on the 03-04's from what i read some get the noise,, others don't,, and if ya have was it covered under warranty,, or was it a big fight,, just curious though,, any info would be great,, thanx everyone.

Warranty will cover the expense of head replacement as long as the car didn't have modifications performed on it. if it did, then you may be on your own.

Paratrooper82d, had his replaced under warranty and he had a pulley and some other mods. Just depends on your dealer.

I had the drivers side head replaced, car was still under warranty at the time. It was making a loud ticking sound. New head is fine. I did not have any mods to the motor, except for cold air and catback, so I did not have any problems getting the head replaced.

A lot of times, it does depend on the dealer you are dealing with, so hopefully you can find a good one!

TSB or Recall

There was a Tech Service Bulletin or Recall for a short run of 03 Cobras built in the Fall of 2002. It was a defect in the driver's side head. I don't know if you have the same issue, but there was a problem and a subsequent fix.
