Advice on Mods please

I have currently have some modest mods on my 03:
Bassani X-pipe with Cats
H&R Sport springs
K&N FIPK

I would like to hear some ideas on what I could do next to increase my HP without spending a fortune. What is my best next step?
(I am NOT getting a twin turbo....as tempting as the video was)
Thanks

You can't go wrong with a 2.8 pulley with an aux idler kit and a flash tuner to go with it. It will cost about $600-700 for the whole deal but it is well worth it. I used superchips for the tuner and I just bought some new pulleys from billetflow. The increase in power from this is very impressive. I would say 50-75 hp depending on who you get the tune from.

In my opinion, you should save up some cash and go with the 2.80/aux idler/flash tuner (like said above) and then when you get tired of that send your blower to stiegy and get it ported www.stiegemeier.com, should easily see 500rwhp+ with that setup

You cant go wrong with a pulley/tune...also might add a catback to go with your mid-pipe ...with install prices, you're looking at around $1200 for the catback, pulley, custom dyno tune.

I think I'm going to go for the torque...I plan on putting a 4 lb lower pulley on mine. Should give me about 13 lbs of boost and 460-470 rwhp. How much is enough for the street anyway?

I like the pulley combos best too..good HP and TQ when you do it that way....I like the 2.93 upper and 4 or 6 # lower the best...and as always a good tune is essential...whether you use SCT or Diablosport is really the customers preferrence@ Amazon..either one is a good choice...and only as good as the person doing the programming for them.

Should you decide to pass on the pulley combos, 2.95-2.80 RR upper is a decent place to start. My 2.85RR upper only/non-ported Eaton setup routinely went 11.7-80s granny shifted.

Understand one thing - once you pulley it'll be like Jeckyll & Hyde.

Sorry butting in, have a quick question, and didn't really think starting a new thread was worth it.

I'm thinking of doing a pulley swap now that I've owned my car for a year. I was wondering can I do a steigmeyer level IV port, a 2.93 upper, with 4# lower and be ok, as long as I have a safe tune. Would the stock fuel system be ok? Or would I need to upgrade it?

Thanks

you will most likely need to upgrade injectors,NAF and BAP with that set up...each car is different and you can get various results but that will not be determined until the car is getting tuned and the data is read..I have seen very few cars that didnt need injectors,MAF or BAP some needed all of the upgrades..and other didnt. you should include money for the possibility of fuel upgrades if you are thinking of doing a stage 4 and lower pulley.

This question is for anyone. With a 1. port and upper or a 2. port with upper/lower combo would you need an upgrade on the heat exchanger? I've been trying to decide on what to do next.

Big T, it would definitely be a benefit to swap out the heat exchanger, anything you can do to cool the motor on these cars will help its longevity when you start modding. I would also consider the coolant reservoir and new radiator as well (but none of those are "needed", just added protection to keep the motor cool)...or you could go crazy do one of these with an external water pump

I reccommend an aftermarket HE as one of the basis mods..it is part of a good foundation for when you are ready to build more boost and get aggressive with the vehicles.what we found when we dyno tuned ported Eaton cars( upper only and combos) is that the engine got to a certain temp with a stock HE and timing would be pulled from the programming...performance suffered as a result with a stock HE ...this did not happen with the installation of an aftermarket HE

Thanks for the input. I haven't had any problems with overheating yet. I'll have to put that into my budget along with my next mods.
