mgw shifter install??
I just bought the mgw shifter and going to install it I think lol. Im not exactly a great mechanic but I can manage small tasks, is this going to be difficult and if so in the directions they talk about shift stoppers?? anyone know if I should use those or if I should take them out. After talking to dan from pro dyno he wasnt a huge fan of the T 56 I really need to know if I should use it or send it back and if I use it should I have someone experienced put it in\?? thanks for your help most of you guys have given me some great help.

Very easy install, just follow their instructions. Also, the T-56 has built in stops, so you can take the shift stops out of the MGW. All you need is some basic hand tools, RTV, and about an hours worth of your time

Do you need to adjust them or take them out? Im not real sure what to do with them. also what are the differences you see in the mgw shifting wise. Can you compar it for me in terms or smoothness over the stock one.

as blk04cobra1 stated take the stops out, not needed. I have done one install took me 45 mins with the longest time taken cleaning the top of the tranny before putting on the gasket sealant

I had George himself install my MGW shifter when I got mine. Very easy to install and only takes about an hour tops like said above.
Take the stops out you won't need them. For comparison from the MGW to the stock or other after market shifters is a night and day difference. The MGW shifter IS the best shifter on the market. Smooth, quiet, and unbreakable. After driving a car with a stock shifter and going to the MGW you will feel the difference right off. The shifts feel more comfortable and no more missing gears A friend of mine had a Pro5.0 shifter and after driving mine with the MGW there is no comparison...........MGW Hands down, they stomp the competition Just take your time when you install it and it should go smoothly. I did my install in under an hour also. I got lucky and the old gasket came away very easily. Just remove the stops, throw them away, the T-56 has internal stops like others have said in this thread. I am glad that I changed to the MGW shifter.
